ummm how do you keep the juice from pouring out if it's not down tight?
Zmax instruction manual here: http://www.madvapes.com/media/manuals/Zmax-manual.pdf

I printed off a copy for myself. Makes it easier.

Another tip, and this goes for any pv, not just the Zmax 2 - when you put on a carto, clearo, atty, or tank - don't screw it down really tight. Screw it on until it makes contct with the pv centre pin and then give it a quarter of a turn. Jamming things down too tight can cause a short circuit.

yay!!! I am excited for all you guys that actually get to use yours! And a tad bit jealous too.. I hope I get to use mine soon! lol And thanks for the T3 info!!
Mine finally arrived today along with a new Phiniac tank, and vaping heaven ensued.

I am quite impressed with the build quality of the Zmax; mine is of gunmetal finish that looks incredible and is quite beautifully machined. Form and function. Vaping at 9-10W produces dense clouds of warm vapor. Constant watts is the clearly the next wave as results are nearly identical even when switching between the tank (Boge LR), vivi nova @ 2.8 ohm, and assorted clearos with varying resistances; all work great with no settings adjustments, no calculator or ohms law table needed. Perfect!

Hope your batteries arrive soon but the wait will be worth it. Enjoy!

that makes a lot more sense than it was for sure!!! Thank you!! I just wish I'd have ordered the correct thing to begin with because I am not going to be able to use this new toy until sometimes next week!! UGH!! lol

Well it depends what you have at hand. You can try some of the stuff you have, just start at low watts - the lowest.

I'd go with these: GotVapes VISION ViVi NOVA™ 3.5ml V2.5 REBUILDABLE TANK [gv-VIVINOVA-TANKV2.5] - $12.95 : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more

If you don't want the whole 3.5ml capacity for a juice just fill them halfway. Or if you really like the juice fill them more.

Here's a pic of one on my Zmax 1 (haven't uploaded pics of my Zmax 2 yet). Click for bigger view:

And get some of these: GotVapes VISION ViVi NOVA™ Twist-On HEAD 2.8ohm Long Wick [gv-VIVNOVA-CoilHeadONLY-2.8] - $2.95 : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more

Those are 2.8 ohm which I find work well with the Zmax. I give mine a clean after about 2 tank fulls. I'd suggest getting about 4 extra 2.8 ohm heads to start with. They'll last quite a while if you wash them out regularly.

Putting them on the battery tight doesn't stop something from leaking - the leaking comes from the small air holes in the connector and no matter how tightly it is screwed down, you never seal off the air holes. On some cartomizers you can get some leaking; but it is minimal and a tight seal at the connector is not needed.

I don't know if anyone has suggested the Stardust Clearomizer to you. These fit excellently on the Zmax - it fits down into the recess, won't leak and doesn't need an adapter. The Kanger T2 and T3 are also good choices, although they require a 510 to eGo adapter and there is a slight gap between the base of them and the Zmax top cap; I'm using a T3 as we speak (type!).

Those 2 clearomizers are in essence mini tanks - they don't hold as much as say, a DCT, but no cartos to change. I just keep them clean and they last for months. You can even get rebuildable coils for some models.

dsy5, the one that was suggested was like 1. something ohms so I didn't think that would work.

so we got annoyed, found a local shop that has vivi nova's AND batteries and we ordered from him because he only does the online thing but dude is really cool and is meeting the hubs to pick up our stuff so we don't have to wait for shipping. Any advice before we screw up the vivi nova's too? Oh and he also ordered the T3 for the ego, and extra heads for all. Plus other crap I am sure we didn't need. But at least HE finally did the ordering and choosing instead of me! lol

 Ok, I put some of this in another thread but I'll put it here too.

1. battery goes into Zmax positive end first - positive end toward the top, negative end at the bottom where the cap screws on. I know that's basic but I looked it up myself once because I didn't know.
2. Don't throw he battery in, just slide it in - so you don't bash it against the connection inside.
3. Put a 2.8 ohm head on the Vivi. You can use a 2.4 ohm head. The 2.8 ohm is the best. Don't bother with the 1.8 ohm.
4. After you first fill the Vivi Nova, leave it standing up for about 20 minutes with the juice in (before you put it on the Zmax). It needs time to wick up.
5. After you've let it stand tilt the Vivi horizontally and roll it a few times.
6. Then screw the Vivi onto the Zmax. Don't screw it on really hard. When you feel it make contact with the Zmax centre pin then just give it about another quarter turn. Jamming things onto pvs really tight can damage the centre pin or push them down too low.
7. Have the Zmax set to Po on menu 7 and ANS on menu 8.
8. Your Zmax should be set to 3 watts - start there. Use menu 2 Pd to go down if it's higher that 3 watts when you start. It probably won't be great, but you won't burn anything. Use menu 1 Pu to go up by 0.5 at a time until you hit the right taste. If it tastes a little burnt or too hot stop and go down 0.5 or more until you like it.
9. Enjoy the vape! As the juice goes down in the Vivi tilt it and give it a twirl every so often to keep the wicks wet.

It's not loose. You'll know when it has screwed in and made contact. Then another quarter or half a turn. Takes about 8 turns to screw it in, and then another quarter turn or so. It won't be loose.

Next instalment...

The video below is how to clean the vivi nova:

Two things. I don't bother dry burning mine. I clean the head exactly the way he does in the video, then leave it to dry overnight on a paper towel, and use another head. You can do the dry burn, and lots of people do, but if its done wrong you fry the coil.
2. The second part of the video is about rebuilding the Vivi heads. Don't even worry about that. I just buy new heads. The heads last really well with regular cleaning. I wash mine out after every couple of tanks. Some people do it every few days.

I think the dry burn is one of the most important parts of cleaning - it helps to remove the deposits that overheat and kill the coils. If you really look at it, it's as if there's a little charcoal bricket around the coil!

If done in short 1 -3 second bursts, there's no way your going to pop it. After the glow is gone, I blow on it to release some of the char, then dry burn again, repeat. I do this until the coil is completely clean. I have never blown a coil doing this.

And I've had coils/wicks last for months with regular cleaning.

It does enhance the lifespan. Not everyone dry burns them. My experience with new vapers is that they do sometimes pop the coil. I'm not saying don't do it, but be careful if you do. I get weeks out of mine without dry burning. A $3 each I'm cool with that.
I'm experimenting with the soaking in coke at the moment - some people swear by it.

dsy5, the one that was suggested was like 1. something ohms so I didn't think that would work.

The lowest I've ever seen them were 1.8Ω, these will work. Personally I like them at 2.2Ω - 2.4Ω. But with a Zmax and it being variable wattage, any ohm that is not below 1.3Ω should work fine.
