I didn't realize how bad non-smokers had it...

I agree things smell so much stronger now but it's an adjustment period. My first trip to the downtown vendors market was too much for me, too many smells at once, and so over powering so I left without my food. My first trip back to a bar (for one of my gigs) about choked me. Again, it was an adjustment period, after 2 weeks I am back to normal routines though I do smell EVERYTHING a lot better.

Side note... I always though old guys at a bar who chain smoke and drink cheap liquor stank, now I can't even be in the same room with them.

Must be another one of those personal things we all bump into here. I walked into a casino a couple of weeks ago and, for the first time, noticed the smoke hanging in the air and actually thought to myself "I just don't get what so many people complain about". Didn't bother me a bit.

Casinos have some of the most sophisticated HVAC and filtering systems available. Any smoke you see is gone quickly, so it's always fresh smoke you smell just before it get sucked up and filtered, not accumulated stench.

My husband likes to pull the covers over my head sometimes...I used to laugh at him for doing it...now I just want to puke and file for divorce....oh never mind...it's cheaper to keep him....anyone have a gas mask?

Don't know if this works or not, but it sure is funny.

It really affects your taste, too. Now that I have quit analogs, I notice my sense of taste is changing rapidly. When I go out to eat, I often notice the extreme amount of salt people use. Sometimes it's way too much, almost can't eat!

To me, that's one of the reasons folks around here have such an ordeal with flavors. New quitters really want a wallop, kind of like their analogs had. Later on, you become more sensitive and discriminating about what you do or don't like to taste. Now, you can taste it!

My wife mentioned that when she quit - her favorite restaurant's 'big dish' now nearly turns her stomach! I haven't been off tobacco long enough to notice it yet, but now I wonder... is that food that was so appetizing before, going to taste horrible later on? hmm....

I work with 2 smokers and wow, I never knew that I smelt so bad before. I of course knew that I did smell of cigarettes, but had no idea it was so strong and sooooo unpleasant :(. When they come back after a smoke break I almost gag, I have to stay clear of them for a good 10 mins. But I will never give them a hard time or even say anything about the smell, it's not like they can do anything about it :/
