I am at a loss with our vaping

I had this problem for a while, and read somewhere on the forum a guy who said to brush, use mouthwash, then gurgle with club soda.. it seems to awaken taste buds.. it worked for me, and I still do it every so often when I start going through that phase again. Hang in there!

It can be so darn frustrating trying to trouble shoot what is wrong when there are so many variables. Try cleaning everything, even the connection points on the battery and atty and see if that helps.

zbasspro is right when he talks about this tasteless/burnt period that many of us go through, sometimes it's at 3 weeks or 3 months or both. It does seem to pass after a couple of days, but those are not happy days!

Lorann Sasafrass isn't water soluble and no good for atties. There's a few Lorann's that should be avoided.

I only mix to this chart.

That was my thought ... all of their atties have been polluted by the oil in the flavoring being used.

Don't know if it would work, but I would soak the atties in Everclear overnight in attempt to clear the oil from the heating coil. Rinse with _very_ hot water, blow the excess water out and set overnight to dry.

Regardless, new atties should resolve the issue when they arrive.

I had this problem with the 510, then switched to the eGo, and I just drip... no filler... i'm also very new at this, and my taste buds are just starting to come back to life. My juice of choice right now is Part menthol, part tobacco... I mixed it myself... the tobacco is an 18mg I think. I dunno.. my husband buys them.. like I said.. i'm very new at this.. lol. Anyways, the menthol and tobacco flavour is working for me right now while my taste buds are renewing.. and i'm really preferring dripping as apposed to using the filler..

I think everyone is different, and different methods work better for some then others..

Golly - thank you all for your kind and so helpful replies. We've been so busy today and I haven't had a lot of sit down time.

We're furiously vaping away on rotten attys with the root beer cause that's the only one we can get flavor out of right now - we're waiting on new attys and carts and good oil free vapes to come in.

I will bookmark this thread and refer back to it and several others mentioned when we need some more help. It really stinks that this awesome root beer barrel we made isn't going to work out for us. is there a root beer flavoring out there that isn't made with an oil or that tastes as good as the sassafras flavoring does?

Just checking back with an update, things have just gone downhill for us, we ordered liquid from Vaporbomb and got the new mega attys and mega carts and it's all still problematic, or maybe we're just not doing it right, who knows. It seems like they hit really well for about 10 hits, then it's gone and you have to start all over. We've wasted a lot of juice this past week.

I'm not happy with the flavors we got, but I always knew I wouldn't really like fake fruit flavors, and I don't. They aren't bad flavors, but just fake and not what I want. And we didn't get high enough nicotine so we're lacking TH and satisfaction.

We're still plugging away and hopefully this will all get better.

Huff try dripping - Im wondering if this is something cart-related but I have no clue WHAT exactly. Try dripping ONLY for alittle while and see if it helps at all (unless you tried this already and it didnt change).

My hubby thinks maybe I vape weird. If someone could point me to a video about how to vape correctly I'd appreciate it.

He says he thinks I don't pull hard enough for too short a time, or too hard for too short a time. I've watched videos and see people hitting for 10 seconds or so and then blowing out this fog of vapor, if I try this I just choke to death. So I try to hit it like a cigarette, which I guess isn't right either, and now I'm wondering if I'm supposed to be inhaling like an analog or not.

I'm smoking, yes I am and I hate it but until I can get the PV to work I'm going to have to do something unless I just direct drip the juice on my tongue which would probably be really bad. I'd die and the FDA would use it to ban ecigs for the rest of you.

I'm going to persevere though and keep at it.

I could not stand the taste I got from attys (burned taste no matter what I tried).

I 2nd the "try dripping" method. I pulled the cart off my 510, dropped 2 drops of liquid in the atty, and hit straight from the atty. Works well! Perfect flavor...u just can't hit it every few seconds. It tends to get a bit warm. I guess using an empty cart would cure the heat on your lips. As soon as the burnt flavor starts I drip another 2 drops.

Heres my thoughts on this. You use egos the pair of you, and shot threw 10 atties in 3 weeks. Unless I misread.
1- Your in that transition period where cig toxins come out, and flavors change
2- Your vaping like you smoked....5-10 minute vape 2,3 x's and hour, probably going through a 1/2 or whole cart each vape...ur workhorsing the atties. they will burn out quick with bursts like that, and youll also burn the wicks and carts..check carts for melted circles on sides.
3- LR atty needs dripped or blue fluval straight shot to flow well enough, or you burn wick.
4- put atties in shot glass cart down at night- that alone will extend atty life 3 fold.
5- hot water cleans atty just fine, just be easy in working liquid back in, as wick absorbs water, and water evaps quicker than liquid absorbs. 2 sec pulls until your getting good taste.
6- if wicks are scorched and atties are nasty, try removing wicks, dry burn, and use blue fluval carts to buy time for next shipment.
7- don't give up, you'll figure it out, we all did.

Perhaps your atty's need a good vinegar bath for 20 mins, then rinse in hot watter for five, dry over night or blow dry. Prime the atty with 2 drops juice, the same as you filled the cart with.

Also, if you ever burn a cart dry, the filler can scorch a bit and then you have to remove it and get new filler, poly fill, blue foam or a bit of shredded, clean (unsmoked) analog filter works.

I to started off dragging it like a cig which gave me weak or inconsistent results at best. I then started taking a shorter draw and not inhale to get things flowing then let that out real quick and take my inhale draw. I get more consistent flavor and TH doing that.

You could just order two Defender kits from vapornine.com (the defender is essentially a 3.7 volt eGo designed for use with KR808D-1 cartomizers) along with several packs of blank turbo cartomizers.

Another option would be to buy a handful of XL vaporking manual batteries from vapor4life.com, a few chargers for the batteries, and a bunch of blank Coolcarts cartomizers.

Whichever option you choose, the final step is to fill up your cartos with your favorite juice (maybe you could try Rootbeer float from tastyvapor.us), use the Taryn spin YouTube - A double demo! The Cartomizer Condom Filling Method, and the Taryn Spin. to pull the juice down to the bottom of the carto, and vape away.

It really doesn't get much better than a solid, reliable, and delicious two-piece set up.


Sure, doing this will require yet another investment, but it's well worth it.

Try perfumer's apprentice. I haven't tried them yet myself but I hear they're good. Also, Flavorart. Those I have tried and they are excellent flavors. especially their tobaccos. HTH. P.S.- these are straight flavorings for mixing just to be clear.

As far as your vaping, you can't hotbox as you did the analogs. Vaping is about sssssloooow, easy, controlled drags. 3-5 seconds. I light pull will get that mouthful of vapor. A strong pull will get a hint of vapor, lots of air. Just slow down, relax and enjoy those flavors.

I know I am new, but I am sitting here wondering if it's atty primer their tasting...I also need to figure out the best way to get rid of the primer coating so hubby when he vapes, gets flavor and not that nasty primer taste. Do you think this could be Huff's problem guys & gals? Just saying it's the first thing that came to my mind upon reading all four pages.
