Anyone has a tarnished GGTS? I would like to restore it to showroom condition.

if you really going to get a GGTS, you should get it with an iatty or UFS, if not a bit no meaning.

Just wondering if the polishing will remove the surface of the alum GGTS, and thus affect the engravings?

i polish mine with meguiars all metal polish normally, the engraving on mine is barely noticeable now also

Hey Alvinado,

The alu GGTS is the very first version it came out. But doesn't it anodized chrome? It also comes with a brass telescopic, unless you opt for the chrome version...How do you intend to polish it? If using a dremel, then the anodized coating will be gone and make it worse...?

If the coating is already tarnished, the nickel/chrome plating is peeling off, dremeling will restore aluminium to it's natural shiny finsih.

No ggts is anodized. The nickel plating gets tarnished very easily just as the aluminum. Also there is no chrome, there is aluminum, brass, nickel plated brass or aluminum and stainless steel.

Problem with polishing the aluminum so much is that people are removing the engravings. You could dremel it to a showroom shine but risk damaging the engravings. Without them I feel like the ggts will lose part of its heart and soul.
