Wife says vape smells like burnt paper.

Yeah, it might be burned then! Your taste buds might be hibernating - usually it's a strong nasty taste, but if your wife smells it I'm thinking you might need to take it out and clean it well - hot water then vodka or dental cleaner soak overnight. When it's dry put it back on and I'd not go above 4 and see if she smells it then.

To me, some flavors with a lot of sweetner or vanilla can have bit of a burnt sugar smell.

True.. And can gunk up the coil faster too it the coil gets hotter than necessary = burnt taste and smell.

Drop the voltage by 0.2 and give that a try...

I typically vape 2ohm kanger tanks at 3.8 and they work fine.. Not too hot or slight burnt taste.

Alright ill give that a shot.

I vape only unflavored VG nicotine base and 5% water. Nobody smells anything. I taste it through and it isn't mothballs (unless I've been hanging around mothballs).

Or someone's grandmother.

Shes a non smoker and has never smoked. She says while the vape smells much better than the cigarette smoke it still smells like burnt paper after the good smell has faded (vanilla in this case).

I thought this was maybe my coil being clogged up but I put a brand new one in and she says it still smells the same.

Thoughts?

I finally told the guy who sits in the cube directly in front of me that I have been vaping at my desk for 2 months. He said that every once in a while he noticed a slight burning smell, but it was very light. Later in the day, he said that he smelled the slight urning smell again. I had just vaped some vanilla custard. Maybe it IS the vanilla?

I did email him the links to the vape101 MVP2, and the mini pro tank 2 so that he can give them to a friend of his that wants to quit, so he's not going to say anything. That, and the fact that I am his boss.

Unflavored vapor should smell pretty much like a haunted house on Halloween.
We exhale pretty much the same thing.

So, you've all been to a haunted house, right?
What do you think it smells like?

I can see someone saying burnt paper, and I can see someone saying mothballs too.
To me it smells like a musty fog.

The question is, what does it smell like when mixed with different flavors...

You are probably burning the juice a little try 3.8 to 4.2 max. Sometimes, some flavors just come out wrong - I was vaping dutch apple pie and a vanilla with coffee that definitely had too much vanilla and my wife told me that the vape from these 2 liquids smells like old sweaty socks.... not a pretty picture. But she does like cappuccino and regular apple pie flavors I vape.
