I was going to purchase the joye ego after trying one of my friends.

I saw it pretty cheap here from GREENHOUSEONE

Joye eGo Starter Kit
50 + 10 for a 60ml liquid bottle.

I was wondering, this is a lot cheaper than other places. Are they all the same/i.e made by the company 'joye' . Any suggestions/comments on this one? Good / bad choice? I'm kindof on a budget in that price range to ~ 75 total

liberty-flights sells a Riva 510 kit for $30 (after the discount posted on their web site). Decent product, form factor the same as the eGo, good battery life, low shipping cost. Riva is made by a different company, not Joye Tech, but it's pretty good.

Just an alternative.

Thanks! This post was very helpful post. They look almost identical. What are the differences? Do you own both?

Also, how easy is it to fill those cartridges? ( I am assuming you can re use the cartridges forever)

I've only bought the Riva. Riva has a soft rubber button vs eGo hard button. Riva uses gold colored end cap/connector, while I believe eGo may be silver colored. eGo standard starter battery is nominally 650 mAh, while Riva is 750, but I believe they may even have an identical actual battery inside.

They are pretty interchangeable, things that fit one fit the other, both use 510 atomizers/cartomizers, you can use chargers with either, etc. I believe Hello makes the Riva, vs. Joye making the eGo.

I don't use separate atomizers/carts, don't know of many people who actually like carts -- folks tend to either go to dripping, use cartomizers, or use one of the new mechanisms (the various tanks). A cart is, however, simple to refill -- just add new juice to the absorbent material.

I use cartomizers, boge 2 ohm 510 cartos, really like them. They provide decent warmth, good vapor. They are easy to fill, using either the condom method or top fill. To top fill, put the battery connector on a tissue, pop out the rubber mouthpiece part, drip juice into the carto while it is held at an angle (roll it a little while you add liquid, to get even soaking). Quite painless. Blow gently through the mouth end after you are done, to clear any excess juice onto the tissue. Wipe the top of the battery's connector with the tissue to pick up any juice that's on it before putting the refilled carto on.
