I have been reading the reviews in this forum for awhile and finally got around to posting. I have bought a Kr808D-1 Battery and Cartomizers (pre-filled). They work great for awhile but then i start getting a nasty burnt taste. I was wondering if this is just because the cartomizer is getting low or if it is a crappy batt/cart. The battery being used is 4.2v 250mAh

I have also been looking at the Joye eGo. I have no experience filling cartridges or messing with atomizers. I was looking at the ones at libertyflights.com and was wondering what would fit on these as far as cartomizers such as the 510's or is it only the ego cartomizer?

Thanks for any help in advance and i appologize for the complete noob questions. If there are any other batteries or starter kits you would recommend i am completely open to suggestions.

Hi Mike. Cartomizers on a Kr808-d1, or any other model will burn if they run dry. How long they last depends on how often you vape. If you chain vape on a standard 1ml cartomizer they probably will last about 2 hours before they will begin the process of burning. I am still pretty new, but have quickly been trying to lean when they are about to burn. There should be a taste difference and sometimes a drop in vapor production. If you plan on refilling them, do not let them burn. I have learned this lesson, as for me at least, once they burn, they are done for. Some say you know they are about to go when you get a slight burnt marshmellow taste, but for me at least, if they get that far they taste burnt to me on the refill.

Have a great day!

i would upgrade if i was you the longer life battery is deffinetaly a plus and its not really as big as it might seem in the pictures, the riva i just got a little bit ago is only about as wide as a dime and shorter then the kr8 regular batteries. you could always get a riva 901 if you wanted to use your kr8 stuff still to. or the ego and an adapter. as far as cartos for the kr8 id go with litecig's premium blank cartos they're cheap and work great. also bloog maxx fusion is supposed to be top of the line for kr8 cartos but i havent tried them yet just going off what ive heard

Thank you both for the quick response. Bogey the advice for the carto will really help. Im not sure yet if im going to try to stick the kr808d-1 out or if im ready to switch to the ego. Do you have any suggestions for where to get kr808 crtomizers? or are the blanks basically the same?

I am a Vapor 4 Life customer and have been extremely satisfied. They have A LOT of different flavors and two types, one cool, and a hotter wow carto. I myself buy blanks and fill with juice, its more cost effective and not that hard.

Best bet... keep the carto wet! :p

As for the ego, I am one of those weirdo's that prefer carrying 3-4 xl batteries than a larger battery, so I cant really help there.

Try Boge 510 cartomizers on the Ego - on Ego you can use standard resistances or the more power hungry hotter LR low resistance ones 2.5 and 2.0 ohms (2.0 is the hottest)

You need to keep cartos damp, especially if you are using them on higher voltage than they are used to. You run em dry, you singe them. You keep them damp, you may get 4-7 days or more use out of one.

What KR8 battery do you have that claims to be 4.2v? I think they are all 4.2-ish fresh off the charger then quickly drop to 3.7
