My Eczema Seems To Be Clearing Up

I had really bad Eczema on my hands as a teenager and about 8 years ago it resurfaced with a vengence. Since I quit smoking and started vaping full time, it has all but completely cleared up. I have a few stubborn itchy spots that aren't quite gone yet but for the most part, you could never tell I have it! This is nothing short of a miracle for someone who has woken up in the middle of many nights scratching his hands and trying everything to make it stop. What itching I have left is mild compared to what I was going through before. I can't say for 100% certain that it is all due to vaping but there seems to be a pretty strong corrilation from the time I stopped smoking and the Eczema clearing up.

Has anyone else had any particular skin ailments like this that seem to have imporved since giving up smoking and/or starting to vape?

I had severe psoriasis on my hands and feet that has greatly improved since I started vaping 2 months ago. There were some days my fingertips were just raw and I always had numerous deep fissures on my palms from the skin thickening and then cracking apart and bleeding. Still have some thickening, but no more cracking and bleeding and it's no longer painful to pet my dog! Have completely stopped using all steroid medications, just using rx moisturizers now.

What is really strange is that I first quit smoking in 2000 and the psoriasis started within 2 months after quitting, never had it before. (Actually my entire immune system went pretty haywire after I quit back then.) Started smoking again in 2006 and there was no real change. In the last 10 years, I have tried every medication and every diet change possible and nothing had any real effect. Started vaping at the end of June and psoriasis was noticeably clearer within just a couple weeks.

I don't think its coincidental....

Well, I have read that they use PG in makeup and moisturizers, so maybe that has something to do with it?

Willie, It might also be something in the tobacco or smoke that you reacted too. Ingredients vary as does the results of combustion. Glad it's clearing up for you.
