that's the funny thing, I know (from a previous mod) that when a short happens the body of the mod gets hot very quickly. In this case I saw smoke coming out of the button hole (the smoke was from the remaining paste I used to solder) but the body didn't heat up, of course I inmediatly unscrew the cap and threw the whole thing to the floor.

I'm going to order another laser and before doing any modification to the pcb I'm going to check it with a meter and find out why I lost insolation between pcb and brass

As a matter of fact, the laser originally works with the negative side first and the positive end on the tail cap, so venting through the tail cap is not a bad idea.

BUT, I'm not sure if reversing polarities ruins the atomizer, my logic says that it wouldn't make a difference, but if someone can clarify that to us, it would be great

anybody?

The polarity won't hurt the atomizer, but if you have the laser with reverse polarity it may have cooked your pcb. I saw your post that your pcb was different, and that your battery was reversed.
I haven't seen any posts about that other than yours. Ikenvape has some that state the batt goes in reversed. I got mine from DX and it was the same as the one Cisco did.

thanks, I will check that out when my new laser gets home, I also bought from DX, so I don't know why it didn't have that resistor, or maybe it does but it just looks different???

Thanks.. made it to page 3 and said where in the...

I'll go look further... thanks again.

WARNING!!!! There is a new model of this Laser now and there are a few things different that need to be chaged on the directions. The two I can think of is where Cisco has the positive wire hooking up is where the positive hooks from the spring on the new model so you can't use that point anymore, you have to solder to the any of the other three. Another thing that is different is the new ones don't have a "nub" inside of the cap so I'm not sure how to solve this to get connection to the negative of the battery, running it backwards is no big deal but I like the positive center polarity so I might buy a small diameter magnet to solve that issue.

Just thought I would update you guys because I was looking at the one I just took apart and then looked at the PDF I d-loaded awhile back, unfortunately I am sick and I have nothing better to do :(

Are you sure this is correct? Making my very first mod ever and I don't want to screw it up. I read on another forum where they are not working.

Mine did not have a resister. Do I really need a magnet and will any kind do as long as it fits?

Maybe you could post a pic of what you are referring too.
