Well I finally got around to getting this thing posted. I know a lot of you had PM'ed me regarding this mod and I am sorry I took so long to get it done.

This is not a whole new mod guide, this is an addition to the laser pointer mod guide thats stuck to the top of this forum http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/modders-forum/26377-laser-pointer-mod-guide.html These additional steps will fall in between step 2 and step 3 of the original mod Guide.

OK here goes......
You need to completely disassemble the laser housing and its components. The PCB is pressure fit into the laser housing notch with a brass shim, with a little bit of force it will come apart. You need to peel the laser off of the brass shim and toss it. In fig 1 you will see the original, disassembled and modded housings. The brass shim needs to be cut in half and the PCB needs to be trimmed, roughly to the point that is marked in the picture. Please take note that the notch in the housing were the pcb and brass shim are pressed into is NOT in the center, it is offset , so take a note before re-assembly Fig 2. Now you need to put the shim and the PCB back into the notch in the laser housing shell. Its a tight fit but with some patience it will go back together fig 3 show the housing back together.

The last thing is the 510 atty connector, these things are real long, they go into the nose cone about 3 times deeper then the 901, so you need to trim the outer ring of the connector. Fig 4 shows the connector before and after trimming.

That is it, not to bad. Fig 5 shows all the pieces back together. Now you can continue with step 3 in the original mod guide.

I will be putting up the additional steps on putting a led into your laser pointer in the next few days.....:)

Hopefully there is a way to incorporate this into the original post so it doesn't get lost.

Cheers

Cisco...

Cisco, hmmm, I missed the steps on my 901 mod where you trimmed down the PCB and the shim and never did that step. It still works...What is the purpose/what are the consequences? IS ths needed on the 901 connector?

Also do you re-insert the rubber grommet arount the spring? I did, and it caused the button to be constantly activated. Took it out and everything is fine. Will the longer PCB cause that? Thanks

Laz...

Nevermind....
