Did you try smoking a cigarette after quitting?

Ok. Just bought a pack of analogues. You guys still recall the first ever cigarette you smoked? There's this particular scent that we have all become accustomed to, very chemical. I've not smelled that in years!

I think my sense of smell has returned :) it's so awful but yeah, definitely recommend people go back and try regular cigarettes after a few weeks, there's definitely no going back.

when my mom comes over I can immediately smell it on her. I think its funny how we cant smell it but when we quit we can.

For sure, a lot of my colleagues still smoke and as soon as they come back inside I can smell it on them 10 feet away. I always always a considerate smoker, washing my hands and taking a mint after I smoked so as to not subject others to that awful smell but now I realize that despite washing your hands and popping a mint it still stinks pretty bad!

Today, I smoked my first cigarette in the past 16 months. Ewwwww! It definitely did NOT make me want to run buy a pack.
I'll be damned it it didn't taste like something burning. I should be good to go for at least a year, and more likely for a life time.
Couldn't wait to get home and get a good vape!

I've been vaping for a month and a half, and a couple weeks in, I had this terrible nicotine craving and I didn't know why (as it turns out, my atomizer was dirty). So I lit one up. Holy freakin' cow, what an awful, horrible taste. I was absolutely stunned. Three drags and I had to put it out. I have had a couple of drags off three more since, but I did NOT enjoy them. Just trying to up the nicotine while my atomizers were cleaning (They all seem to clog at the same time! I clearly need a bigger supply of 'em!), and once when I was outside talking to someone unexpectely and didn't want to interrupt to go get my e-cig. Every one of them has reinforced my belief that I will never smoke again.

Funny enough, I just realized as I was reading this thread that for the first three weeks or so, I made sure that I had cigarettes laying around just in case I had an equipment failure. Now I'm even more panicky about it, because I don't WANT to smoke if I have equipment failure! It's no longer an acceptable substitute for vaping!

I smoked pretty heavily for 35 years so I carried a pack of analogs around for about a month, and actually tried to smoke one after about two days of vaping. Forced down about two drags.."no-go at this station".
It is actually a little funny, But after seeing the "Caveman" enjoying the vape, six people at work are now off the analogs. Still can't cut-em any slack though, I am sure at the first sign of weakness, the little twerps will try to put me in a home. Next thing you know they will be everywhere. Like Homo-sapiens stand a chance...Good luck with that!!!

It's funny how we all start really hating the taste of analogues huh? I couldn't believe how bad they actually taste. Wonder what got me interested in smoking in the first place. I think it was peer pressure or something - can't remember.

But guys I think you should have an analogue or two once in a while to constantly remind you how bad and nasty they taste. Once your brain makes the final connection, you'll not want to ever smoke again.

Makes it easier to give up both smoking and vaping in the end.

for some reason at the three month mark of my quitting (and i hadn't had a single puff during that whole period) i went absolutely ape for cigarettes. no idea why. i would smell one and want one and would bum them from friends periodically. then about two weeks later i just snapped out of it. it was weird. because during the first three months the smell of second hand smoke would make me gag. i dunno.

now just the thought of smoking gives me a headache, and second hand smoke makes me gag. every blue moon if i'm out at the bar with friends i'll go outside and vape with them while they smoke and sometimes i'll ask for a drag. i'll take one or two, realize that they make my throat burn like fire and that they taste like absolute toxic waste. it's like it just reinforces my staying on the wagon or something lol

I loved smoking and still do. So I have one from time to time while relaxing at home or with friends. For some reasons, vaping is also very satisfactory and I haven't had the Urge to go back to full time smoking. Just don't feel like it.

Looks like we're in the minority here but what you wrote applies to me exactly. I took a few drags from my daughters marl the other day and really liked it. Fortunately for me, I like vaping even more and I have no urge what so ever to smoke. :vapor:

Took me three weeks. Three whole weeks without smoking, and then WHAM, I bought a pack. I buy about 2 packs a week, where I was smoking a pack a day. Just can't get away from them. However, yesterday I got some really high powered nic juice and today have only had 2 cigs. I was vaping ~36-40, but I upped it to about 50mG and that seems to be working. Don't even want to reach for a ciggie. My problem is I LIKE tobacco! I like the smell and the taste.

I've learned from the cold turkey attempts to never have one or I am dead in the water. There have been urges but no way I was going to give in. Now 6 months without a cig and I think they stink. I can't ever imagine having one again. And I loved smoking, or so I thought. I think I was just that addicted I convinced myself I loved smoking because how could anyone actually really like that awful taste and smell?
