NEVER clean stainless steel with steel wool. It can deposit iron oxides into the surface of the ss and cause it to rust. You are much better off using something like a scotchbrite pad for polishing stainless.

NEVER use acid salts or caustic cleaners on stainless steel. It too can cause changes to the stainless on a molecular level which can lead to staining or even rusting. IE: "Lime away" will turn stainless steel permanently stained.

Soaking low grade stainless steel overnight in water can bring out the worst of it. Boiling low grade stainless and exposing the hot metal to air can flash rust it.

fwiw...the china clones of aspire nautilus are actually stainless steel chimney and NOT plated brass crap like the authentic nautilus.

The part that connects the coil to the battery in the bases of both my nautilus' rusted out in storage. They we're both cleaned and thoroughly dried before putting them in their boxes and I went to give em to a friend and both connectors had totally fallen out due to rust.

Im hoping it doesnt happen to my mini. A ehpro kayfun doesnt rust but authenthic aspire products do? It kinda just urks me. I have a cana mod and I use it over my provari now and it seems clones are getting better imo.

Should have gotten the dang clone then i can how it can be plated brass as the 510 connector is yellow which I assume is brass perhaps. Just surprising how theres a metal spring on the bottom and why so many youtube vapers are like its the best thing ever I support it when aspire cheaps out on all their products. The replacement ss tank is rusting or at least has a stain from what I showed in the pic and its authenthic too but in less than 3 months....seriously?

All SS are not the same. take a magnet and see if it sticks, if it does, you've got low grade stainless and it will rust. I clean with a scotch bright pad and blow it out with my compressor. So far so good. GL with yours.

Will keep that in mind and thanks for that tip!

The magnet test is very misunderstood. Having slight attraction to magnets is NOT a reliable way to determine the quality of the ss or whether or not it will corrode. There are many factors that go into whether or not the ss will have magnetic response. Even austenitic stainless steel like 316 and 304 can have a magnetic response depending on how the finished part was formed and/or machined, cold worked, heat treated etc. It all figure into the magnet test misconception.

I have two nautilus tanks and my wife has a K 1 and they are stainless, no rust, oxidation, nothing...

Where are the specs on the K1 that says it's stainless? I read the spec and the drip tip is stainless. Show me where the inside chamber, ect. is SS, because I was looking for that information yesterday.

Since the chamber of the nautilus wasn't SS I was interested in learning about the K1 ......
