I currently have a vamo v3 with a kanger protank. After watching a lot of youtube videos about the protank, i've decided to replace the stock wick and coil and rebuild one myself. After rebuilding one (it read 2.6 omhs and vaped wonderfully) and using it for about a week, I decided to change out the wick. Once I took out the wick I saw that the coil seems to be rusting up. I wonder if anyone else's coil turned up like this. Is it rust from the coil or something else, and would it do any harm if I accidentally kept vaping. I have a picture attached for you guys to check it out.

i cant get close enough to make it real big clear. but it looks normal. the juice gets cooked onto the wicks making a black/brown crust. then it leaches out into the wick. it is this layer that causes us to need a head change. with the protank/evod heads you can burn that off real quick and keep going - or like you are doing rebuild them

Normal gunked up coil from use.

Rebuilding is Great.. But.... You need to care for your coils too!! A Dry Burn every 2 or 3 days (or 2 or 3 tanks) will get rid of the gunk and slow down the need to build as often.
