I need to replace my 18500 battery pretty soon. I use this in a King mech mod with a Kick installed ... I feed my kayfun 1.5 ohm coil 10 watts of power.

I am now using the Efest IMR 18500 / 1100 mAh (red) battery as shown below.

How about the Efest IMR 18500 / 1000 mAh (purple) battery? .... Looks like the only difference is the slightly lower mAh on the purple one.

I believe they are both rated at 15 amps max.

Is the red better than the purple, or are they basically the same? (considering both batteries are authentic Efest)

Thanks,

Chipotle.
I have the purple efest 18500. It is a decent battery. Seems to be holding up well (it is a couple of months old).

I also have the AW 18490. That is a great battery. About a year old now and vapes as new.

Aw's are about the same money as the efest. Those would be the ones I would recomend.
I'll second the AW notion, The AW 18490 1100mah is one of the best for the 18500/18490 form factor, it's 1100mah and can discharge 16A. The only other battery that is currently higher in amp rating is the Tensai 18500HP, which is 1100mah but can discharge a whopping 22A! (not much is known about the Tensai 18500 as of right now since it's new to the party, however I own two of the 18350HP Tensai batteries and they're quite good cells all-around.)

Is there even anything authentic about an efest??
At this point not really with all the Efest crap going on, I'm not even sure what cell they are currently using under their wrap for the 18500 batteries but it does seem to hold up well to the advertised limits. Honestly I really tried to stick with Efest for a month or two but after finding the sources for many of their battery cells I discovered it's about 50% of the cost to just buy whatever battery cell they're wrapping their wrapper over and not give them any of my money.

I have Strong suspicions that the Purple Efest 18500 and 18350 are Tensai sourced batteries.

I have a pair of the Tensai 18350HP batteries, they are good batteries. Ranking as the highest amp limit 18350 out there and look to test well also.

I am waiting for a pair of Tensai 18500 batteries. Those look to be good performers but the AW still has the amp limit and I have been universally happy with AW performance both in the short and long term lifespan of the cells.

Edit:
Found this test of the Tensai 18500

Looks like a good battery to me
