Everywhere I go
Hi all. I'm wondering if anyone has noticed an unusually
higher rate of DOAs with regard to TW's 5-packs
of Mega Atties. (or standard 510s for that matter)

I purchased a 5-pack from TW and got 3 DOAs.

One lasted a couple of days
and 1 still works after about a week.

I'm asking because TW does not guarantee
their 5-packs because supposedly
they're giving me such a sweetheart deal
(5 for $44.99)

If I buy a single Mega-atty for $14.99 I get a 28 day guarantee.

Which got me thinking,

what would stop TW
from doing a quick check on their atties and chucking
the DOAs in with their 5-packs
(remember - no guarantee)

And selling the non-DOAs as singles
(with 28 day guarantee for higher price).

I have no proof of this of course,
but considering the dismal rate
of DOAs I got with my non-guaranteed 5-pack
I have to wonder...

Anyone else notice high rates of DOAs
with TWs' 5-packs?

PS: I've since found a much better deal for Mega Atties
elsewhere at HealthCabin which come with a
6-month guarantee.

Go figure.

Every one of my SLB 901 attys, whether they be regular or HV, they all die within a week for me. I must really suck at it or doing something wrong.

Damn thats crazy...i had my first 901 SLB atty for a few months and finally it just died...and i think it had more to do with my passthrough frying at that point.

I've been using 901 attys for 4 months and I've never had one die yet (knock on wood.) When the draw gets hard or they seem to not heat up as well as they should I either soak them in Crest Pro Health mouthwash or Polident for Smokers and they work great again.

One thing I have noticed is that the vent holes get plugged and need to frequently be blown out until it's unobstructed.

Added: Sorry for posting this here.

It's a well known and frequently mentioned issue. The general consensus is that it is probably deliberate on the part of either TW or Joye, but this cannot be proven either way. The best course of action is to simply avoid these "no warranty" packs.

Thanks. (and to the others who responded)

So it seems I'm *NOT* paranoid after all.

Not worth it. You are paying a significant amount for risk. I say go with those suppliers that offers warranties. TW's bulk atty pack is definitely not worth it.

Just ordered from HealthCabin.
With shipping & 5% coupon averaged to $8.68/ Mega Atty.

6 month warranty.

Also saw 'em at EcigFair.com for $7.15 with
1 year warranty.

(with shipping works to about same as HC)

But HC had my colors.

Now I'm wondering how these guys can offer such great warranties.

Let me guess, by the time you figure in cost of shipping to send back
and get the replacements sent to you
it won't be worth it to do so.

But the fact that they offer decent warranties
at a fair price
is hopefully a sign that they are confident
in the trustworthiness of their atties,
and not intentionally selling DUDS.
