I really do think that we retain more of the vapor than we might think. For instance, and this may be mildly gross, but ever since I've been vaping again, I vape a lot in the morning before work. Well, on my bike ride to work, half the time I will get a weird sinus drip about the time I get to work. This never happened when I smoked analogs, but happens pretty darn often now that I vape. I slowly began to realize the drip was most likely vapor accumulating in my nasal cavity, as I often exhale both through my nose and mouth.

Anyhow, you may want to try the vaping method StormFinch mentioned. I find I hardly inhale at all anymore, just enough to be able to exhale from my mouth and nose. I find I get a lot of flavor that way, and obviously must be getting enough nicotine.

Good luck, I really hope you feel better soon and can get your vape on. Keep us posted, and maybe think about seeing another doctor if things persist.

It still doesnt work cosistently. I have had it repaired before and sent it overnight mail and return overnight mail Because I am so addicted to it.But oh well! better that real cigs. I think it's more likely that vaping is irritating whatever you have, not causing it. Sounds like it could be pneumonia (as others have said). Last time I had pneumonia I was still smoking so not sure how vaping would feel. If they sent you for a breathing treatment you'd be inhaling the same vapor minus the nic and flavor.
The only way to get rid of fluid in your lungs is by moving, like walking if you can. It forces you to breathe deeper. Try to lay off everything, cigs and vape if you can, and maybe see a pulmonary doc for another opinion. Keep us posted...

Doctoring isnt yet a perfect science, and they get it wrong very often. For instance I have a customer who came down with lung cancer even though he never smoked! He got it 2.75 years ago, and they told him he had 6 months to live. They had him start this chemotherapy that actually helped him stay alive and kicking for almost 6 times longer than the doctors expected.

But then last week he started getting a little sick, so he went to the doctors and they told him he has 6 months to live. Well, I was at his house last Tuesday(9 days ago) and he was out walking around and looked OK. Then I went back over on Sunday, just 5 days later, and he was then laid up in a hospital type bed, looking like he had lost 50 pounds, and was completely unable to walk or even to sit up in bed! So now the doctors tell him he has 6 days to live!

So in just 5 days, he went from having 6 months to live according to the doctors, to having 6 days to live! Doctors are great some times, and other times they are as accurate as the weather man!

If I was you, I'd temporarily switch to nicotine gum. I had to do that a year ago while visiting my uber-religious extended family for 3 days, and it wasnt that hard. I wasnt vaping yet then, so I had to stop smoking and go cold turkey to nicotine gum. Thats probably your best bet for now, just in case the doctors are right. I dont think smoking cigs is the answer with the condition you have.

I have to say vaping is much better than smoking and my health has gotten better since quiting smoking. It could be coincidence that you are having this problem after starting vaping but you could also be having a reaction to something from vaping. I fully understand everyone here defending vaping but it is your health! And we have a certain amount of trust in doctors to help us otherwise we wouldn't see them in the first place. But ecigs have not had a long term study. Maybe you should stop vaping for a while till you get your health concerns taken care of then maybe you can try it again some time in the future.

If the docs hadn't know that you did ecigs, I wonder if they would have said, hey, this looks like the ecig virus. ......

Hehe, the ecig virus. Too true, unfortunately. Soon ecigs will be causing everything from ingrown toenails to coeliac disease. You gotta laugh... It's amazing how something that is given to lung transplant patients can apparently cause pneumonia. Soon it will be found to be the cause of untold numbers of unexplained deaths or alien abductions. If it wasn't so funny you'd have to cry.

Probably some kind of bacteria. Do you vape from the same tank all the time? DIY? New supplier of ejuice? Around a lot of people at work, etc? Have you been run down or stressed?
I've had pneumonia twice and both times I was run down and stressed. My immune system weakened and opened the door to bad stuff. Even though I managed several lightly inhaled cigs a day it was not smart. I went through three rounds of antibiotics to get rid of it the last time. Smokers who get pneumonia, esp more than once, are sometimes headed for lung cancer, my brother for instance.
As stubborn as your condition is, I would follow doctors orders to a T.
On the other hand, you've been vaping for ten months(?) I don't think it's the vaping but bacteria or a virus from some source.
Eight years ago I woke up with a very high fever, a rash that covered my body, and when I tried to get out of bed and stand up I felt like I had no cartilage in my knees and fell back on the bed. When I got to my doctors office I asked to be put in an exam room because I was freaking out other patients. I was really, really sick. My doctor sent me to an infectious disease specialist and she asked a million questions and did tons of blood work. My fever lasted 30 days and I kept a chart on it throughout the day and night so she could check it. Eventually it went away and I asked this very pretty and funny doctor, so what was it? Her words exactly, 'unidentified flying virus.'
Sometimes we just get sick. I asked her at one point if she had a gut feeling what I might have. She said lymphoma or Stils disease. I looked them up and thank god I dodged those bullets.
Hoping you feel better.

I had a similar experience. 2 1/2 months into Vaping I ended up with a nasty sinus / chest infection. Vaping would aggravate the symptoms and I had the coughing fits you described. About 2weeks passed and I finally went to the doctor and he prescribed leviquin (sp) and Flonase. 1 week later my symptoms got better but I found that my 100% VG was still causing problems.

I ended up moving to camel snus mellow (which tastes like bobas IMO) until I was completely over the infection. Picked my ego back up after my course of meds and cough subsided and I have had no problems since.

I'm not a doctor, just relaying a similar story.
