As a old timer and someone who loves music of all kinds. I have had a couple of stereo's thru the years and have always enjoyed looking, and listening to different sound systems with a wide variety of music certain sounds and impressions have added to my life's enjoyment of music.
I would hope there are lots of folks that feel the same way. I have started to put together a little sound system with the likes of Craig-list and Ebay to try to keep cost down and focus more on Vintage equipment.

Funny enough after graduating high school my friends bought cars i bought a nice sound system (Accuphase t-101 & t-102) Fm tuner and integrated amp with 4 cerwin vega 2000 speakers. Folks this was a life changing event!(lol) needless to say if we were not cruising we were at my apartment listening to some tunes (god bless the neighbors) any how i was wondering if anyone had any photo's of there set up or stories they would like to share. I understand this has nothing to do with vaping but i do vape and enjoy music! below is a vintage Pioneer sx-1250 i got of eBay that's original from 1976 that sounds good to this day!

My dad was a rampant audiophile for a while. The reason I learned later was he was an opera fan. He kept on trying to get that opera hall sound out of recordings. We know now that it simply can’t be done. The reactive echoes of a concert hall combined with music that was never written to be recorded create a sound that can only be experienced live. When I heard his records I was convinced opera was awful. Really really bad. Then I went to a live performance. They cannot be compared.

Makes a lot of sense. Watched some video's of very high end systems and in almost all the videos they have opera and jazz playing. I think i will put a opera show on my list even with my hearing probably still enjoy. Wife took me to a Yanni concert and it was terrible, sound set up was off i think. I'm going to a queen concert with her in Tampa this summer see how that goes lol

Bad opera is still bad, but great opera is mind blowing. And I’m really not an opera fan.

I've got a couple of Pioneer "Big Knob" receivers up in the attic somewhere. Pumped a Lot of Good Times thru them back in the day.

Lots of survivors spent time in the attic. Many are in demand now (monster amp) bring em out They do sound amazing i must say.

I'm kinda a victim of NMOL! (No More Outlets Left!).

Because the Room I would want to put a another Receiver in is Completely Maxed Out Power wise.

And just like Mech Vaper calculate Amps when doing a New Build, I have to do the Same else I will Blow a Fuse.

I just went over to e-Bay to see what a Working SX-1250 in Working Condition goes for.

LOL thats a good problem to have. I have component pieces at different locations hoping to get the main pieces in one room to build my desired system.. My wife's always saying why do you need more stereo stuff!(lol) Hoping she will see why real soon! She will love it,it will be a nice surprise for her!

That will be gone soon! not a bad price, reconditioned could go for 1700 to 2300 no problem. Sounds like its all original and needs cleaning. I paid 350 for mine 5 years ago. demand has surged. next is them big console tube radios zenith and magnavox and many others. Frankly anything tube. First thing i look for at a yard sale! and old albums vintage audio is back! The new stuff is great to but to come close to the quality sound were talking about here is way out my range money wise. Im looking for my old set up again lol then Im done so i say!
