I've added too much flavor concentrate, how can I fix it?

Scenario

I made an e-liquid in my 30 ml bottle. I used 15% of flavor and 3mg/ml nicotine. I usually vape at 10% flavour, but I wasn't really tasting this one anymore. I filled my tank with 3 ml, but I can't seem to vape it. My throat tightens up and I get phlegm in my throat. I think there's too much flavoring and I'd like to reduce the concentration to 10% to make sure if it’s the problem. How can I do it?

Explanation

First of all, it's a pity the symptoms you're describing, if it continues, don't hesitate to go and see your doctor so you can get a real diagnosis from him ;)

As for the e-liquid, you've consumed 3 ml, so there's 27 ml left in the bottle. We'll check on the Eliquid.diy calculator whether it's possible to reduce from 15% to 10% while maintaining the 3mg/ml nicotine concentration with the 3 ml available in the bottle.

We can see that the calculator tells us that we can only achieve an aroma concentration of 13.5%. That's not good enough for us. Let's take a 60 ml flask.

Since we want to reduce the flavor concentration, we'll need to add more base and nicotine booster to maintain the nicotine level.

- We have 27 ml of e-liquid.
- We have a booster of 20mg/ml nicotine concentration.
- That's 4.05 ml of flavor. (27ml * 0.15)
- There's 81mg of nicotine (27ml * 3mg/ml).
- That's 4.05 ml nicotine booster. (81mg / 20mg/ml)
- There are 18.9ml. (27ml - 4.05ml - 4.05ml)

We have 15% aroma at the moment

If we want to reach 10%, we need to add base to dilute the aroma.

On the other hand, let's not forget that we want to maintain nicotine concentration. To do this, it's easy: just take the 13.5 ml base, and set it to a nicotine level of 3mg/ml. Adding this, we'll have the same nicotine concentration, with a diluted flavour.

So, to have a 13.5 ml e-liquid at 3mg/ml

We check via the calculator, and we can see that the results are similar!
