btw, I see the Silverplay on the vapordna website for $15.
I think I see what you are trying to do. Like the trick of putting 2 nuts on an auto exhaust stud to lock them together, then use them to back out the stud, right?
So, if you just need to hold the 510 from rotating while you twist the airflow thingy, then try this.
Get a small piece of rubber tubing, like a vacuum line from any autoparts store. Or even wrap the threads with electrical tape, I'd guess 5 or 8 wraps. Then instead of pliers, use the chuck in your electric drill. Better than a vice, since it'd be gripping the cylinder at 3 points, rather than 2, which would deform it. (You are just using the drill chuck to hold it, of course! Don't turn the drill on!!)
And I'd try this on an old atty in your "junk drawer". Just to see how tight you can grab it, then unwrap it and see if it still threads onto a mod.
Alternately, you might have a tap handle or something else that can "grab" the 510. Maybe even with 4 points of contact.
Good luck! (and if you completely ruin it, a new one is $15, just saying)
