Our local bacco store only carries Aqua Vapor juices, I tried the AV vanilla and it was ok, I could taste and smell vanilla a little. I also have tried V2 vanilla carts so those 2 are the only vanilla I have tested. So I came here to get some input on what is the best vanilla flavoring to buy so I can mix some.

I mentioned those 2 products so anyone will know where I am at on what strength of vanilla I want. If anyone has tried the 2 mentioned above, I want a stronger vanilla taste and smell. The V2 carts where very weak and Aqua Vapor wasn't strong enough either.

It looks like Lorann's Vanilla Butternut Flavor may be a good one to start with, any thoughts on that one. I came to that dconclusion from the Wizard Lab site. WL offers 5 different vanilla flavores and all where in stock except Loranns Vanilla Butternut. Since that one is out of stock that tells me its the one they most likely sell the most of. If know one has any thoughts in here, when WL gets caught back up I may just order all 5 vanilla flavors and go from there.

Never made my own DIY juice until now. Just got my 1st order from WL with 3 different vanilla's, Vanilla Bourbon (TFA), French Vanilla (TFA), and Vanilla Butternut (LA). With 100+ views and no input on this thread I guess I'll just do a trial/error to see what happens.

Figured I would start with small 5ml batches. I made a 12mg French Vanilla, put in 20%(1ml) and it tasted a little floral. From reading other post it looks like some flavors need to age in the dark w/bottle open to the air for the flavor to taste right, no idea if this is one of those. Also made 5ml with 20%(1ml) Blackberry (TFA), it tasted strong and wife said it smelt a little like liquorish, I never tasted liquorish. May have to let it set for a few days or dilute it.

One thing I wonder is if PG and VG can affect the fruit flavor? I mean will a 50/50 mix make it taste different than a 70/30 mix. Its all new to me but looks like it will be allot of fun making and testing different flavors.

I did smell all the flavors and the Vanilla Butternut (LA) didn't have a very pleasent smell, must be the butternut. Dougt I get anymore of that.

charly...honestly, I've given up on the 'vanilla' search & am sticking with my old days of tobacco & menthol. I do most DIY, but, there are a few off the shelf that are a must & I even add a little of my own brews to those. You're on quite a journey if you're asking for opinions on which is the best - 100 people, 100 different replies.

You could try looking into vanillin crystals. Some folks say that's very good.
Some folks get creative and use Bavarian cream, vanilla swirl, vanilla cupcake,
and anything the is or leans toward the vanilla side. Like all tastes, it's subjective,
but there are better ones than others. I'm still looking, too, or I would lay it out
for you.

No idea if it will be any good, but today I made a 15ml batch with a 20%(3ml) Vanilla mixture of 1ml each of Vanilla Bourbon Concentrate (TFA),French Vanilla Concentrate (TFA), and Vanilla Butternut Concentrate (LA). After letting it steep for about a week I figured if it isn't any good, I could add some strong fruit flavor like Strawberry or Blackberry to cover it up.

From the few batches I have made so far, I have noticed when I use 20% flavor it makes it pretty thin even though I used about 27%VG(1.35ml per 5ml batch). May have to add more VG from now on to thicken it up, maybe around 40%.

Today/tomorrow I am supposed to ge getting some Bavarian Cream (TFA), Ethyl Maltol 10% PG Solution (TFA) and Peach (TFA). I read somewhere that Bavarian Cream and peach makes for a good mix, will find out.

NOTE: I have read to let everything set open to air in dark from a few days to weeks. I don't use any tobacco flavor just flavor, so w/out tobacco flavor is it still best to let it steep for days? I did try some French Vanilla right after I made it, it did taste better after setting 3 days.

after trying a few Vanilla flavors here is what I came up with, Straight F. Vanillia was great.

(18.5 ml batch) Not very good could only taste the Butternut(19% total flavor)
This actually has a tobacco taste to me, maybe because of the strong butternut taste
French Vanilla TFA 1ml
Vanillia Bourbon TFA 1ml
Vanillia Butternut LA 1ml
E maltol .5ml

Very good, its my main all day vape, st8 F.V. by itself.
French Vanilla LA 20%

not what I excepted, not much vanilla taste
Bavarian cream TFA 25%
E. maltol 5%

The vanilla will not be as condensed as some of the flavorings out there. I've wondered though about putting it in VG and then letting it sit over night so some of the alcohol evaporates out. I don't think it would be as as strong still but if you used the flavored VG as a fair portion of the mix it might add a nice subtle vanilla.

Thanks for the info and the tip! I just have this whole unopened bottle sitting there and hate for it to go to waste. It does have alcohol in it (vanilla, alcohol and water), so it will need to be evaporated. Will give it a try and post my results!

How long has yours been marinating? Mine is almost at the 2 month mark and it's dark.

June 25th will be my two month mark and then it gets strained ready or not. Mine has a kind of light color right now I would like to see it darker. Waiting!
