Ways to get smoke related smells and gunk out of house

One option is an ozone generator. They can be rented from a local equipment rental facility. You will have to leave the house for 24 hours but when you come back no more smell. In fact pretty much every bad smell will be gone. They are about $150 to rent for 24 hours. Info is here

they use these in hotel rooms! and they work great!!

We never smoked in the house or vehicles, but If you take the covers off the cushions and febreeze the innards and let them dry, you should be good.

+1 on the febreeze, sold a house in SLC once thanks to using tons of it in the onw room we smoked in

Also, for those who do end up painting with lighter colors , didn't wash the walls and prime first and have mega cig smoke buildup before hand and see that bleeding/ staining threw your paint job ( it happens allot ) ... look into zinsser and kilz primer products.

More passes with what is being used will just continue to bleed threw forever if it's already happening. You have to stop it, then continue.
