So I have been researching the effects of Nicotine on ADHD/Memory which I have problems with(diagnosed by professionals), I vape "other things wink wink" for ADHD already and it does an alright job but always can make me a bit to giggly/etc...which is cool but not always a plus based on situations. I refuse to go on meds like adderall or the like....way to many bad effect

I never smoked ciggs based on well you know the whole thousands of chemicals thing...plus I hated the smell, ecigg vapor is pleasant smelling to me though. So my question: Those of you with ADD/ADHD/Etc... do you see an effect when you smoke? I was thinking of placing an order over at MtBakerVapor since it seemed cheap enough, would 6mg be a decent starting place or should I go to 12mg for an actual effect?

All the articles I have been reading(Can't link yet it seems) point to it helping, VG/PG seems safe enough, nicotine in of itself doesn't seem to unhealthy at the doses in E-Cigs and its rather cheap so maybe I would give it a try, really I just don't wanna get addicted if it has no real benefits haha...decisions are hard.

Oh I also suffer from some pretty bad anxiety and I heard it could help with that also, if anything.

As a non smoker, I'm thinking that 6mg/ml would be about right. So far as medicinal benefits go, 6mg would still be about right, though I've no data to support that opinion.

Honestly, I've heard of benefits for Parkinson's Disease for maybe a decade, and for Alzheimer's for the past several years, but I've no idea of the methodology involved. I also don't know if there is significant improvement, or some kind of minor statistical evidence. I am totally sure it's better than taking up smoking for the benefits of the nicotine.

Maybe someone else can make a more decisive statement.

I was diagnosed with adhd and the nicotine may help a little. I feel it help more when you need something to calm you down or level you out but eventually It will stop giving you the same feeling. Your body will get used to it. I'm on vyvanse and that helps way more. I would give it a shot adderal is more of a party drug now and vyvanse helps me get .... done. The focus is crazy

You might want to give this a read Nicotine, the Wonder Drug? | DiscoverMagazine.com
it mentions the Newhouse study where ADHD subjects wore a 7mg nicotine patch and did see improvement.

As for dosage, unfortunately there are just too many variables. What kind of equipment are you looking at, if you're going for a clearomizer you might want to start with 12mg, and if that turns out to be too much you could always just vape less. Or go with the 6mg, it's all kind of uncharted territory for what you want to accomplish.

I can tell you that back when I was in high school, a LONG time ago, smoking helped me focus, though I was never diagnosed as ADD/ADHD as that didn't really exist back then.

I wish you the best of luck and let us know how it goes. Welcome to ECF!

Seems like its worth a shot then, Is MtBakerVapor pleasant taste wise for the most part? I will be using a borrowed ego spinner and Kanger mini 2, not sure if thats a clearomizer or not to be honest. Guessing I should buy some coils also there with my order, they seem to be 5 dollars for 5, guessing they should last a bit at least.

Thanks for the welcome :)

I like Mt Baker, I'm partial to the lighter fruits. My personal favorites from MBV are Rob, Spurburry and Freckled Lemonade. Kanger mini protank? Yes, that's a clearomizer, extra heads would be a good idea, one should last you 1-4+ weeks, but it's always good to have spares, just make sure they're the right ones. Be aware though that sometimes you have to let MBV liquids sit and age for awhile before they really taste good, they mix everything fresh.

oh, forgot to ask, what equipment will you be vaping with? If you are getting your eliquids at MBV, may as well get one of their starter kits so you don't have to go to another site and pay shipping again.

I looked and the Evod starter kit (with 2 batteries) or the Innokin MVP starter kit looks good for you maybe. I prefer the 1st one as you will also get 2 clearomizers with it and I didn't like the itaste 30 clearo that comes w/the MVP kit.

You also get juice with the starter kits. so........

I think if you diagnosed with ADHD, and you have some anxiety problems, and you believe vaping can help with the anxiety, and in the end it helps with the ADHD, then you can vape any mg of nicotine you want, as long as you happy with it.

Once you happy with it, the anxiety will reduced, and hopefully it will benefit your ADHD situation.

I don't have ADHD, but before 32days a go, I always grab a stick of cigarette to ease my anxiety. Now I'm attached to my vaporizer. It really works like a charm.

Starter kit ? Joyetech eGo One ( preferably with 1ohm coil head ). It's small, easy, and plug & play , and cheap. *dont forget to buy the 5 pcs coil head replacement also.
Liquid ? MBV is one of the most popular name you can rely on ( from my observation over US vapers ).

One of the reasons, before I really knew about vaping, I was real hesitant about quitting smoking was the fact that it gave me an excuse to get away from what I was working on and take a break. Clear and cool the head. I'm into a gazillion hobbies and I will go without eating I get concentrating so vehemently. No offense to anyone, though I equate boredom with stupidity and I have actually taken offense to those who've asked me if I was bored. Never damnit, not one time am I bored! Anyway, digressing, I would go have a smoke for a couple minutes and come back with a vengeance.

This has transferred over easily with vaping for me, thankfully. I can't speak as to the effect of the actual nicotine itself, I can only speak from my own real world experience.

Look, lots of people with ADHD (and other psychiatric issues like anxiety) do self-medicate with nicotine via cigarettes, to autoregulate dopamine. It kind-of works, but not well enough to stop the symptoms, usually. If it were enough, they wouldn't be going to psychiatrists and neuropsychologists and coaches for help.

Aspire premium kit is the best starter you can have

Which might make sense if nicotine was addictive. No empirical study ever done has demonstrated that nicotine is addicting.

Yeah reading about that now, actually pretty shocking, I am addicted to tea though, all in the mind I suppose.

I actually decided to go with Strawb-Gwab at VelvetVapors, heard Mtbaker uses the same stuff thats in splenda which makes my stomach hurt honestly O_O.

I already have the battery part(Smoktech variable 1100), I am gonna grab a new tank though, anyone know the cheapest legit place for a kanger(Or just as good) tank thats also glass, sorta against plastic to haha....my friend cant find his extra now lol.

I would try no nicotine first because starting addiction of nicotine is a slippery slope IMHO.

Why bother then? I am a bit lost, I know they come in 0mg but isn't that for folks that are trying to break the habit altogether?

Diagnosed here too. Lifelong customer, first time caller. :)
Nicotine seems to help me in regards to taking the edge off of anxiety, but I take a prescribed ADD medication as well.
I vape liquids from 3mg to 6.

IMHO: ADD is both a curse and a gift, and I'd suggest going slow and really identify what affects you and how.
For reading material, the book "Delivered from Distraction" is a great resource.
