I am not a new vapor-er and only recently got a sore throat that is killer. I have a cold- my nose is runny and I have a yucky chest (several people I know have this cold, they do not vape, so I would be remiss to blame my PV for my cold!)
However- the sore throat that comes with a cold is aggravated drastically by vaping. (just as with smoking, when youre sick its painful to smoke)
I also just learned the hard way that taking advil cold and sinus (which "drys you up") and then trying to vape makes the pain worse and your mouth/chest intensely dryer.
My cold seems to be not as bad as the other people who have it- but they dont have the bad sore throat with it. I has strep two weeks ago, oddly my throat did not hurt this much.
(I work with kids, seems I get sick a lot, huh? thats because those slimly little things are nasty germ spreaders...but I wuvs them...)
