Was actually thinking about starting a thread regarding something i've been experiencing very similar to what you are. However, i am a chain vaper @ 18mgs. I go through about 4ml or more a day (estimate).

Last night and also today, i've noticed that my lungs hurt and i'm breathing heavier. I'm starting to get concerned because i have heart issues and if vaping is causing this, then i do NOT like it!

Maybe this will pass, but it's odd that i've been vaping a month now and it's "just now" starting to bother me? My advice for you would be don't give up and go back to the analogs just yet and if it continues, check with your dr. That's what i plan on doing!

EDIT: oh wait, just read where you're not an ex-smoker....wellllll, i'm not sure what to tell you! ha
Nicotine=Vasoconstriction=Increased Blood Pressure=Increased work-load on the Heart
Try lowering you nicotine levels and you MIGHT feel a difference.

I've only been vaping nearly 2 months (and quit a 1-1/2 PAD habit at the same time)...

When I first started, I used a low powered device, and high PG juices. My lung capacity and stamina increased noticeably.

Then I wanted some premium juices that were high VG so I got 2 high power devices and kinda went crazy with one of the premium juices - I was in heaven because it tasted so good! Then I started noticing a heavy feeling in my chest and my stamina started going down. I cannot prove it, but I suspect it is either the high VG, or something else in the juice (I'm specifically wondering about the sugars - the heavenly juice was very sweet). I'm now learning to make my own juices so I can figure out what works best for me.

Bottom line - quit and see if you improve, or go to the doc. If you don't want to do either of these, at least change up your juice to see if that makes a difference - different flavors, different PG/VG ratios.

If I remember correctly Halo juices are a 50/50 mix. They don't list it on the site, but I had contacted them a couple years ago asking as being pg sensitive I wanted to know.

Something else to keep in mind with not having the stamina you use it is simply age, I think all of us over the age of 30 can say we don't have the same stamina we had when we were 20 somethings. You didn't say how old you are but might be a thought there.

How is that possible? Nicotine isn't addictive to non smokers...

you are not an addict. non tobacco users develop no
dependency to nicotine.

I disagree with these statements. No nicotine is not highly addictive, and is not the main thing in cigs we were addicted too. That however doesn't change the fact that nicotine on it's own is about as additive as caffeine.

This thread is very interesting to me because I do have lung disease and see a specialist for it. I get lung function tests regularly and BEFORE vaping my oxygen saturation was 90%. I had to take breathing pills ( theophylline ) and inhalers to breathe easier and not wheeze. My lungs are heavily scared from being on a life support machine for a month as well. I smoked for over 25 years. I had a constant dry cough. I have been vaping solidly now for a
year next month. Since I've been vaping, my oxygen saturation has returned to 100%. I no longer require the pills or inhalers. My cough has completely vanished and I no longer wheeze. This is a true and factual story! I will always have the scaring in my lungs but my function has dramatically improved!! I could hardly believe it my self when my cough disapeared! I breathe MUCH easier these days. This is not a coincidence. This is due to switching to vaping. So I'm quite suprised when I hear you saying in the short time you have been vaping how your health has degeneratated. However because you were a NON SMOKER it is quite possible that vaping assulting your virgin lungs. But as far as EX SMOKER claiming vaping has worsened their health since they quit smoking this is VERY HARD for me to believe and understand! I know every body is different, I understand that, however, for those people who are saying they vaped for a month after smoking for years and they are having breathing issues, I'm more likely to believe they are actually HEALING from the damage done from the smoking. As you go through the healing process you WILL cough and bring up mucus from smoking. Then once you are cleared from the residual smoke toxins your breathing will actually IMPROVE greatly! A month is a very short time vaping and the smoking toxins WILL TAKE TIME TO CLEAR as you heal. I've been vaping 50/50 at 18mg nicotine. I think me being one of the EXTREMELY sensitive groups if vaping were causing issues in ex smokers I would have absolutely been effected. Instead I'm actually healing. This leads me to believe vaping CAN GREATLY BENEFIT ex smokers! As far as the op is concerned I do believe his situation IS DIFFERENT. He did not spend years upon years assulting his lungs with smoke like most us us did. In that case the vaping might actually be insulting his breathing and lungs and I suggest he quits before his issues get worse. But for the rest of us that are ex smokers I'm living proof vaping can and does improve your lungs over smoking! In my opinion it is a MUCH healthier alternative! I find based on my personal results, it's very hard to believe it would worsen or effect a ex smoker in any negative way. In fact there is likely going to be a significant improvement after the initial healing process. I think vaping can actually help ex smokers improve their lungs. I'm living proof of that!
