Hi....I am a big fan of their whipped cream. After spending a month trying to clone it they come out with DIY version. One of the CSR's lead me to a speadsheet

There was a thread started about cloning VW's Tiramisu and someone posted on there that they believe that VW primarily uses FW for flavouring. I have no idea if this is true but give it a shot I guess.
Gabriel, the CSR wouldn't tell me (company secret) Ha! I have bought flavors from the vape mall and found out they do relable FW's flavorings as their own. I think Mount Baker uses FW, I know I read that somewhere on ECF. I'll have to try another batch of whipped cream...from the vape mall (FW) using the percentages above with the sweetener. I wanted to clone their whipped cream...I came up with a blend that I like by adding some vanilla and 1 drop anise to vape malls whipped cream. I dont know but I think there's some triacitin in there. I couldn't stand their tiramisu. uck

Oh really it's one of their more popular flavors. Different strokes as they say.

I remember the person that posted about VW primarily using FW said that with the experience of vaping VW and using FW to them it was obvious that is what they used.

Might have been me among others who said that. I was referring to VW Murica, which tasted like straight up FW Boom! to me. Their Swedish Fish also tastes like straight up FW Swedish Candy (I've tried both FW and TFA, they're pretty similar). On the flip side, I got more of a TFA vibe from their On Cloud Custard , definitely no FW Vanilla custard in it.

It's been months since I've vaped anything from VW. All I have left is some Orange Dream, Raspberry Cheesecake, Bae Bae Cakes, King Cake, Fruit Hoops and Wrecking Ball.

The King Cake tastes very familiar, (FW Cake Batter Dip?) but after 9 months of vaping my own juice it's so overly sweetened that I can't nail it down at all.

The Bae Bae Cakes is shot, it's dark brown and smells like burnt plastic nicotine, and there's no way I'm vaping it.

The Wrecking Ball smells heavily of the candyish FW Banana and something else (grape?), the liquid has taken on a curious fluorescent yellow-orange tint, I can tell from the smell that it's going to be over-flavored and sweetened, so I'm passing on vaping it as well.

The Raspberry Cheesecake smells like plastic.

The Orange Dream smells similar but not exactly like TFA Orange Cream, I also taste and smell something like FW Blood Orange, and the liquid does have a light cloudiness similar to FW Blood orange (or maybe it's just turned cloudy after sitting for months). It's actually somewhat tasty, I'll vape it today and see if any more bells ring.

All I can say about the Fruit Hoops is it's similar to but not exactly like TFA Fruit Circles (of which I have vaped a lot). I've never tried FW's version. What I have is 0 nic max VG. There is that strange VW trademark under-aroma (plastic?) that I don't get at all with my own single flavor TFA Fruit Circles.

One thing I'll say is that in all the Vape Wilds, (all 3mg nic), I can taste the nicotine distinctly, and it's not what I'd describe as pleasing. That could have to do with them being old, but I do recall not being able to handle their 12mg strengths because the nicotine was just horribly strong, even back when I was vaping 12mg.

My favorites from them were Vanilla Clouds(?) Vanilla Butternut, Sweet and Creamy, Circus Bear and Bombshell Batter. I also liked Sweet Complexity until a bottle I had turned cloudy and the flavor went watery.

Memories...Professor Snipes Slitherin Sauce (VW's version of Snake Oil), I'm pretty sure that's TFA Pear (never tried FW Pear). I hated it at first, but now it's one of my ADV's (my own snake oil clone, not VW's Professor). VW's rendition was pretty good.

That's all I got. I'd assume VW is like most mass market budget juice vendors. Heavy handed on the flavoring, predominantly FW (lower price point) with a few TFA/CAP mixed in, cheap low quality nicotine, and tanker loads of sucralose. They were great for me while I was transitioning to DIY and had very little money to spend on pre-made juice. Knowing what I know now, vs the nothing I knew then, I can never go back. I need to taste my own hand in what I vape now. DIY is a one way road for me, no way back to pre-mixed.

I seem to recall also saying that! :) Re: If I wanted to clone VW Tiramisu, I would definitely start (and probably end) with FW Tiramisu.

All of this is just my opinion. My guesses are just that, and I could be way off.

Just made 9 test juices with some of their DIY stuff. They of course need to steep, but here are the most promising mixes I've made so far based off of initial tasting:

7% Kiwi
6% Marshmallow
^Right off the bat this one tastes like their Fuzzy Logic

6% Deluxe Strawberry
7% Marshmallow

7% Salted Caramel
4% White Chocolate
4% Mild Custard

5% Marshmallow
5% White Chocolate
2% Mild Custard

I will update after some steeping happens :)

Some notes:
-Their DIY cinnamon is like a red hots cinnamon, not desserty
-Deluxe strawberry is a very strong ripe strawberry flavor, I wouldn't recommend going over 5% with this one.
-Salted caramel goes down easy, could easily make it 15% all by itself.

Will take some practice to get percentages down for adding hints of whipped cream/custard to fruit an stuff. I'll be making more with different proportions tomorrow and see how they turn out in about a week or two.

Might have to cut down on the dairy (whipped cream/mild custard) percentages to as low as 2% or lower for some of the experiments I've made. Who knows.

ETA : I ended up finding it. I will order and give it a shot @whodat2112 I'll let you know.

One thing I find strange is there is not much info out there about FW, compared to the "big 3" CAP, TFA and FA. Gonna give some of there flavors a shot.

@jambi Anything highly recommended by FW. I see they have Blue Ice, looks good. Is it?

Haven't tried Blue Ice. Knowing the strengths of FW, I'd expect it to be good. Personal opinions...FW seems to do candies really well. I like their Swedish Fish and Skittles. Their Blueberry is overshadowed by TFA's wild and extra, but I actually like it better, and it mixes nicely with the 2 TFA's to create more unrecognizable blueberries. Their Butterscotch, though a bit weaker than others, is my favorite Butterscotch flavor. Similarly weak but also good is their White Chocolate. I would use both those flavors a lot more if they were more concentrated. I tend to prefer their Hazelnut to FA or TFA. Yellow Cake, though on the "Bad List" (for its sugar syrup, not diketones), is an awesome flavor that's unique and not really comparable to another brand. It does unique cakey things to mixes that no other flavor can. Other sugar syrup FW's that I've liked are Boom! and Fruity Flakes. Finally, their Blood Orange is IMAO the best.

Two problems I run into with FW, 1) a lot of their fruits lack authenticity, ie. they're too sweet and artificial-candyish. (To be fair, I feel similarly about some of Capella's fruits). Candy is dandy, but when I want authentic fruits I go with FA and INW.

2) There are FW flavors I like but are difficult to use in mixes because they're rather weak. This seems to be the case with a lot of their supporting flavors, vanillas, creams, etc. Good example is their Bavarian cream, it's good but requires high percentages to work like it should. I can't devote 7% of a mix to Bavarian Cream and stay within a reasonable threshold of total flavor. Since TFA's does what I need it to do at 2%, I'll always use it instead.

Again just my opinions. I hope others with more experience than I using Flavor West will chime in.

Thanks so much!

I have read that their Blueberry is very good.

One more question if you don't mind. What is a good jumping off percentage over all? I tend to go 5% then adjust from there but for how weak you say they are is it a good idea to start at 10%?

Thanks very much for the insight, I appreciate it.

I test FW at 10%, see how it hits me. Usually (but not always) I have to bump it up. 10 to 15% single flavor seems par for FW. Just use discretion. There are a couple FW's that knocked me on my .... at 10%, namely Banana. My old notes in my calculator from when I was vaping mostly single flavor mixes (when I was a DIY noob :) ) inform the following for FW...

Vanilla Custard 12%
Fruity Flakes 10%
Boom! 10%
Butterscotch 15(!)%
Menthol 5%
Butter Toffee 10%
Extreme Ice 5%
Swedish Fish 8%
Gummy Bear 8%
Skittles (now renamed to...IDK what) 10%

I vaped a lot of FW Swedish Fish and BOOM! in my early days of DIY. The FW custard is an oddball...I taste neither vanilla or custard, nothing even remotely diketone-esque. What I get is strangely spicy floral notes, but it's also strangely good. I went past 20% with Butter Pecan and got nothing but faint sweetness. Maybe that flavor is just out of my taste zone. Also didn't get much of anything from Bavarian cream, and Whipped Cream was tasteless until it started tasting like curdled milk around 20%.

That's all the notes I got. Flavor West is under-represented in my arsenal of flavors. Just go with 10% and see where it takes you. Also read the reviews at BCV and this and other forums. I thought there was an FW thread here, and I know there's an active one on another forum I can't mention. Good luck! Let us know how it progresses.

To awesome. Thanks for the detailed notes, I will try out your suggestions and stick to 10% with testing.

I know I must have odd ball tastebuds LOL. Seems like everyone like the VW tiramisu. When trying to clone the whipped cream I used FW's at 10% 11% then 12 finally 15 and something is definately missing. Maybe it's the sh.tload of sweetener. I did steep for 3 weeks......but added 1 drop per 10ml at 15

Wanted to bump this thread and bit of an update. I have ordered a handful of FW flavors and they are on there way. I will post back here my results on how close they are to VW, especially Tiramisu @whodat2112 .

One thing I noticed when making the orders is that some of the FW flavors are freaking identical to VW flavors. For example, VW has "Stars & Stripes" ejuice which is a mix of blueberry, star fruit and strawberries. Well FW has a flavoring called "Red White & Blue" and yup it's a bluebrery, star fruit and strawberry mix. VW practically even ripped off the name of the flavoring haha.

Anyhow even just by looking at the flavors and names of some of them I am pretty confident that this must be what they use. Combine with @jambi 's experience with the flavoring and pointing us in the direction I have very high hopes. Big thanks to @jambi for pointing me in this direction, would have never found out about it otherwise.
