Using 1.2 ohms on an istick 20w

What's the optimum wattage to vape at using a 1.2 ohm dual coil on an istick 20w. I was using the 1.8 ohms at 13 watts and burning my coils in like 2 days. The guy at my local vape shop told me I was burning way too high a wattage. So I decided to go with the 1.2 ohm dual coil instead but I'm finding I don't know much about wattage and voltage. Can someone tell me what I should be burning at and why?

What tank are you using the 1.2 ohm coil in. What tank were using the 1.8 ohm coil in?

There is no 'best' or 'optimal' power setting, it is a matter of personal preference.
Vape to taste not a number, start off at a low power setting and slowly increase taking a vape or three on each setting until you find what you like.
If you get an odd / off / burnt taste turn it down a little.

i exclusively use istick for around 4 months now. And i can say that the sweet spot for your coil is around 9watts. I play from 8 to 9 all the time with a smooth result in various setups

and remember the iStick is not using RMS it uses Mean. So the 13w you are at on the screen is actually higher if it was converted to RMS

I don't go over 7 watts with my Protank 3 with stock 1.8 ohm coils on my iStick 20w. You can probably go a little higher with 1.2 ohm coils.

I vaped 1.2ohm coil today at full power on the iStick. It wasn't enough power for the atomiser. (OMG)

Your problem is the reverse. I seriously doubt the iStick can even run a mini Protank without burning and total coil destruction unless you set it to minimum and pray the iStick doesn't give you it's normal turbo boost.

It's complicated. Set to minimum and work up.

Same with mine. I have an iSmoka on top of it (both Eleaf ) and it destroys coils at 3.8v with 7.2w using 1.6ohm coils.
Had to set it at 3.2v and 6.0w to hang on...

I've got a 1.5ohm in my emow now and am using it at 9-10W on my mvp2 and it's working good. So my guess would be around there. But yes, remember, whatever you set it to on the istick, it's going to be higher than what it says.

Pretty much the same as everyone else here. the iStick will eat up those coils if you let it. It can be like a pistol size RPG at times!
