TPD is bad, but compared to what the FDA cooked up, it's paradise.
So far. TPD is minimum. Going above ( i.e. more restrictive ) and beyond is still up to each member state.
UK made it clear that they'll be treading as lightly as they can get away with, whereas other countries will put the thumbscrews on all things vaping.

- Nic free isn't covered by the regs.

- Nic caps at 20mg/ml, boils down to 18mg/ml as the strongest for sale too account for a little leeway.

- Leakproof tanks ( 2 ml max capacity) and refills, so we're likely to see some odd gadgets

- 10ml max per bottle. Eurocrats involved in environmental protection were having a go at the TPD. Greta job, I'd say. Instead of reducing plastic garbage, we'll get flooded with it instead.

However, UK quitting the EU might open a window of opportunity:

Things vaping registrered in one EU country are good for all other EU countries too. Registering stuff in the UK - as I said they'll tread lightly, so it's fairly informal ( and affordable ) compared to the bureaucratic steeplechase some other members are planning to set up. Brexit negotiations are bound to take a year or two ( i.e. FTL for eurocrats ), many mainland vendors are setting up branches in the UK already...

So I'm pretty late to the party on this, and I suspect I'm not the only one! I had NO idea about TPD (tobacco products directive) and how these new laws are set to completely destroy the vaping industry.

In May 2017 our e-juice prices are likely to sky rocket and you won't be able to purchase concentrated nicotine to mix your own flavours. As I understand it, this may also affect the hardware (tanks devices etc) as there will be a limit on the amount of juice a tank can hold (2ml I believe).

Now I only found out about this an hour ago and have been doing my best to read up on as much as possible. But what does this mean for U.K. / global Vapers and vaping in general?

Does anyone have anymore information and should I be buying up mods, tanks, nicotine concentrates, flavours and just about everything else I will need for the vaping apocalypse that is surely upon us?

I think I read that bulk nic was going away some time in March. Some of the vendors have good information on their sites.

I saw a statement on one UK vendor site suggesting a possible way around the nic supply problem. Something to do with the fact that wholesale supply of nicotine isn't covered by TPD. You would just have to call yourself a wholesale customer. They were still investigating the practicality of the process. Like whether you would actually have to set up a front company or something.

That was on eliquidflavourconcentrates.co.uk

Another supplier was planning to sell nic at 20mg in prepacked boxes containing 10, 20 or whatever, cheap 10ml plastic bottles. So a 50 pack would be 1/2 liter. They reckoned doing this they would be able to keep the price of nic to the customer at a bearable level. Not like it is today but if you mixed your own juice it would still be quite easy on the wallet.

I think that one was DarkStarVapour

I've been following this stuff because I might be moving back to England later this year.

I'm amazed that more people haven't been talking about this. Not once have I seen it in a vape shop or anything. If my business was about to go .... up I'd be screaming about it. lol the FDA are pure ......! They always do what's in the best interests for massive pharmaceutical companies and to hell with everyone else. Take cancer for example. That's just a massive cash cow for these ....s to cash in on. You telling me that your tiny pills cost 200k per patient?!?! Yeah okay. Oh and while you're getting them from the hospital, we'll charge you £20 an hour for parking!! It's such a joke. Governments put tax up to say they want a "healthier nation" but then in effect make smoking cigarettes cheaper!! What's wrong with these money grabbing idiots!

Man this whole subject has got me pissing blood lol
