Tobacco Flavour Percentage

I am trying to mix a 10 ml bottle of tobacco liquid using Perique Black and any information that I can Find uses percentages.....I don,t understand. I watch a video and the guy is mixing a 5ml bottle consisting of 10 drops of Perique Black ( .5ml ) with 4.5 ml of PG to end up with a 10% strength mixing liquid. He then uses 1 ml. of the mix where it calls for 10% of the tobacco in a recipe. The next time I see a recipe that calls for 10% Perique Black, it doesn't say that I have to dilute it first.... When I try a 10 ml. recipe that calls for 10% Perique Black, I can't even vape it because it is so strong.
please help

I too have Perique tobacco . It was very strong , but also eas 18 mg . which was really too much for me . So I added some PG/VG 0 nic. @ 50 % . I also added a little vanilla . Now it is very good , and not so strong . So take the earlier advice , and start out with 1 or 2 % flavor , and go from there till you like the taste . Whatever % works for you , is the right one to use . There are no set rules on DIY juices .

Here are a few things I have learned from DIY in the past few months:

Tobacco flavors are VERY STRONG!
I usually mix in 5ml batches. I only use 2 drops per 5ml. If I mixed a 10ml batch there are some tobaccos I would use only 3 drops because they are still slightly strong at 2 drops per 5ml. Tobacco flavors NEED to steep for a week after mixing. Tobacco flavors are the big culprits in people complaining about chemical/perfume taste in their juices. The juices just need to age for awhile.

I am using Flavor Art tobacco flavorings. I use them as bought, and undiluted, when I am talking about drops.

You might also consider adding 1 or 2 drops of Ethyl Maltol per 5ml to sweeten your tobacco mixes. If a mix has just tobacco flavorings it will tend to be harsh with a very sharp edge. Ethyl Maltol or some other sweetener will help take this edge off and reduce the harshness.
