(Great, now I want to round up a bunch of vapers for a roleplaying campaign. No smoke breaks needed!)

Been following this thread with interest. One thing I find interesting is that, for me, FA Black Fire is plenty ashy/smoky enough. May just be my palate, as I smoked cloves rather than domestics. Going to try some of these additives out.

GURPS is a great system. Considering how detail-oriented you come across on the boards (which I only mean as a compliment), it makes perfect sense. :)

Thanks, like my flavors, I like to mix things up and it is the perfect fit for that kind of play.

...Ahh, the good old days. I can't seem to find any 31 year old vapors in Long Island that want to play RPGs anymore, and my old crew has dispersed across the country

So for now I'm left waiting 5 years each for George R R Martin to finish a damn book and my multi-sided dice, monster manuals and handbooks collect dust

My regular group ranges from teenage to mid-50's, so it must be a geography thing. RR won't be there, but I know that Tracy Hickman, his wife Laura and Margaret Weis should be at Gen Con this year. (Along with a whole bunch of other writers and artists.) I got to attend my first Hickman's Killer Breakfast last year and it was a blast.

The regulars, who know well my DIY streak, want me to build my version of The Sultan but cannot come up with the $ for the wood.

If you two attend Gen Con, I will bring some of my tobacco mixes and a few character sheets and throw together a side game with some non-vapors to keep the room from getting too clouded.

***End Thread Jack***

Has anyone gotten Oakwood to be a background note in a tobacco mix yet? There is a wonderful earthy dryness there, but it seems to not be melding the way I want with the few attempts I have given it.

Cool stuff hoosh

My first foray into fantasy was dragonlance. I actually met Margaret Weis when I was about 13 at Icon (think that's what it was) in new York at the stony brook university campus (older brother took me)

It was a trip! I recall her saying she would feel Raistlin walking next to her at times when she was deep in writing dragonlance

Thank you for the offer; I'd love to attend Gen Con but with medical school it's not likely :(

WRT oakwood my attempts have all been frustrated. It smells wonderful and everytime I include it in a mix it just doesn't work right. I just get this nice smelling but "muddy" tasting note. Hoosier have you tried it in the dark Vapure recipe you gave me?

WRT black fire it does taste like smoke to me, but not the right kind. It's very BBQ or even mesquite to me. Closest thing I success I've had with it is a DROP in a 50/50 burley/dark Vapure mix

I'd love to find a more honest wood smoke ( halo prime 15 or v4l USA # 7) or ashy tobacco smoke. My money is on either FA smoke flavor, or jimi d's bag of secrets ;)

Haven't tried it with D Vapure yet. I was trying to use it with P Black and getting much the same as you, it's weird.

I'll leave the Gen Con invite open for following years.

I'm very interested in Jimi's new secret as well...

Try Dark Vapure at 5% and add 1 drop of Burley as a topper. It will bring out a full cheap cigar flavor.

Sorry, can't remember all the different notes at all the different percentages for FA tobaccos. That one stuck in my head though and I haven't had the gumption to put my scribbled notes into a format I can search and read.
