I just bought this unit along with the charger. Scott you are right. The charger is basically junk. It works but I'm not confident it will last or whether it is a safe one. The black chrome will scratch up fast. Mine is the stainless and it's still pretty. I'm having a lot of fun with it, but get used to long charging times.
