For the quick viewers, here is the problem overview: The battery doesn't fit. It's too long for the tube.

I just got one of these Dreadnaut clones yesterday (early xmas gift from my awesome wife) from MyFreedomSmokes and I can get it to fire fine, but the big fat orange MNKE 26650 battery won't fit in the mod without the atty poking off the top, or the switch not being screwed down all the way and the big brass "beauty ring" rattling around (which to me is worse). Are certain brands of 26650's taller than others?

I love how gawdy and ridiculous this mod is, but I want everything to fit. This being a hybrid mod, and the way it is set up, another atty is not an option, and honestly, I wouldn't want that to be an option anyway.

I already have the plastic ring on the bottom (around the switch pin) screwed all the way down, and as far as I can tell, this is the only part you can adjust for battery fit.

Dreadnaut owners unite!! Am I the only one with this issue, or are all the 1/1(ish) clones like this?

The girl got me one as well its on the way glad I ran across this and lol I'm in gastonia nc I hope someone is able to chim in on this I run .2-.3 ohms and need a nice 26650 but no ideas

Well, for the time being, I came up with the a quick fix. I put a small O-Ring above and below the brass accent ring, and it took care of the rattle, and doesn't look bad at all. It actually looks like it's stock, because the black O-rings actually cover up the threads that were showing. Piece now feels solid in my hand, and I'm happy with it, asthetically. (picture below of mod with o-rings on it)

The battery (Orange MNKE 26650) is definately "oversized" because sitting next to my Sony VTC4's, and LG 18650 batteries, it's about 1-2mm taller than both. Vaping wise, the battery holds up to what I have thrown at it. Sub-Ohms not a problem with these guys. I am running dual parallel (quads, essentially) Macros 5 wraps each with 24 gauge G-Plat, and have had no issues at all. I heard (on another forum) that the SONY 26650 batteries were shorter than others, so I am guessing this mod was made with those batts in mind. Unfortunately for us, they are no longer made, and hard to find.

(same side build, quads combined into one coil, works great with the same side air holes on the Dreadnaut)

Very nice and hardly noticeable at all I would of never noticed lol awesome I will be grabbing mnke batteries do u happen to have a link for the exact ones u bought?

Here is where I got them.

https://www.myfreedomsmokes.com/batteries-chargers/mods.html?device=552 I would go for the MNKE or EFEST. Both good batteries.

A rule of thumb when buying batteries: if it has the word "fire" in any part of the name, stay away.

They are a company based out of Charlotte, NC. I buy all my DIY e-liquid supplies (except flavorings) from these guys. 2 day shipping on every order. They are awesome. Consequently, also where my wife bought the Dreadnaut for me. Smart girl heard me talking to a friend about it, looked up the company's site from one of my VG bottles, and found it for me. She's a keeper! :)

MNKE are the shortest ones I have. They rattle when I swap them in where my Purple Efest 26650's usually reside. One thing I've noticed is the Purple Efests discharge 32/64, giving me the little jump I need for thicker and warmer clouds at 0.15 ohm. I build 24ga dual parallel wrapped around 1/8" to that level, and love it.

But, I've gotten a bit off base here...What I'm saying is that the Purple Efests are a little bit longer than the MNKE

Hi-I don't know if this will help with battery knowledge but have found me an 18650 battery that will not fit a 18650 mod-can't get the bottom spring cover

to start to catch threads. Bought battery in bulbs and battery store.

do not use a ultrafire battery anything with "fire" in the name will catch fire 9 out of 10 times in a mech mod, i did order these for my vamo v3 however just to have extra side batterys since they were behind a chip, still sucked, always charging and never put out a good hit.

ok since we have Dreadnauts, has anyone been able to find a place to buy "parts" for this dreadnaut the only thing i can manage to find is the 510 adapter peice, which i order the cheap one off fasttech just to get an idea of how they work and if its worth the big bucks, but im looking for a whole new top assembly i have a few things im wanting to try that involve drilling, not willing to make a mistake on this top if i cannot get another.
