This post I shall call:
TAMING THE BEAST
This has been on my mind for quite some time, I needed to twist up some 28 gauge SS430 first. Pained me to pull out a perfectly good Clapton (kept it).
I plugged the outside air outlet holes with round tooth picks and trimmed them off flush
With the air ring adjusted with one slot open it vapes like a TGT2, with both slots open it vapes like a TGT3.

To achieve the best effect change out that fat drip tip for a regular sized one.

Been 2 days with Taifun GT4 and is really great tank and being a mtl user since i started vaping , always wanted a tank for direct lung hit but everything i tried was harsh very airy and no just clouds clouds..
but not with my new taifun .
Yes is airy but is a diferent sensation becouse the flawor is there and thick clouds , love the sound while vaping like a slow cooker thick sound

I run on first problem with my new taifun gt4 , is leaking with juices with high VG . The first few days had 50/50 juices and didnt leak at all just bit of siping around the rings . Maybe is my fault as did try less cotton and with high VG juice control ring should open just a little . Wish they kept the juice flow control with the drip tip like my rose v3 has and i think taifun gt 3 has that as well . Still playing around and try to put a lot of cotton and the liquid flow control to watch it all the time and open just a little in steps

My experience with Taifun GT IV so far is to put a big enough coil to fill the chamber and to use more cotton than usual. My go to setup is any wire with 24ga (I use inowire) with 4ID, spaced and 8-9 wraps. I cut the cotton just at the edge of the tank and slide them in. Even with a setup like that, juice flow half-opened is more than enough to wick it properly. This setup gives me thick clouds and very nice flavor.

I also tried some fancy coils, like fused claptons with 3.5ID. Though nice, it is not my style of vaping.

Yes, I mean inner diameter. Wrap your coil as many times as you like. I usually wrap 9-10 times. Space them. Afterwards, try putting it in to see if it fits. If it doesn't fit, pull on your coil legs to unwrap as many times as necessary to bring down your coil size. The idea is to have a coil big enough that won't have bent legs either way after you put it in.

I just checked my current setup and it has 7 wraps.

Here is what it looks like:

I will try your setup
Juice flow ring is really hard to turn , hopefully in long term with such low tolerance it has with the deck it will keep in good shape. Having rose v3 for a year now never had any leaking issue and I like it a lot but is limited on building big coils , that why I bough taifun gt4 . Really happy with my new taifun and I am shure once I figure the amount of cotton will serve me just right and also the flawour is up there with rose but more airy and clouds
Thanks

Heh, I know. My standard setup for Taifun GT 3 was 2.5mm ID 26G 6 wraps. Taifun GT 4 is a different kind of beast though. I think the designer of Taifun kinda hinted at the change in the direction of his/her vaping style with Taifun BT, which was a massive clouds mesh tank. Taifun GT 4 is more in line with Taifun BT than Taifun GT3 in terms of style of vaping, i.e. big thick clouds with good flavor.

As for JFC ring being difficult to turn, I always take it off before I change the coil or the cotton and drop a few drops of juice on the o-ring underneath. It makes turning the JFC ring much easier.

I have no problem using clone spares to keep high dollar gear up and running. I ordered 5 clone gt 4's by Ulton to keep my authentic gt4 running. I haven't needed anything yet, but I have lots of spare glass and orings. Out of curiosity, I built one and it's fantastic. Juice flow control is a bit easier and everything else is on par. I did my part to support the original manufacturer.....I sleep great at night.

I have one authentic and one Ulton (plus the early Shenray made from photo..LOL) It wouldn't surprise me one bit if all the parts of the authentic were machined in China then assembled in Germany (just a hunch)

I have Rose v3 authentic and the machinery is great , Kayfun prime also authentic and now taifun gt4 authentic. Dont own any clones so no idea to compare but none of these companies tell us a lot about their products, Eden mods says proudly made in England.. kaufun, taifun the same made in Germany..
Maybe it wouldn’t surprise me as well if they made the pieces in China and assembled them in uk, Germany like Apple does, but then have my doubts those few-people vapers company will go all the way to China.. would love to know for real, where those pieces are made
