Submerged in Water

So I woke up this morning to find that when I set down my mod on the table next to me when going to sleep, I set it perfectly inside a coffee mug with water in it. It has been sitting there all night. Triquetra 26650 mod with purple efest 32a battery. I opened it up and all was definitely moist but not flooded. I dried everything up but letting it sit. Any hope for the battery or should I toss it? It's only about 3 weeks old. There's no bubbling on the wrap but no idea how much water may be inside.

There are two ways you could go:

- Open it, strip it, and put all the parts (battery etc) somewhere warm to dry out overnight. Then fire it up with no RBA on, then with a high resistance head like a 3 ohm atty, then the RBA if it's all OK so far.

- Or do the seawater drop method, for when something electrical / electronic gets dropped in saltwater: submerge it in distilled water for a couple of hours, then as above.

Oh yeah, you can also pray to the great spirit of vaping...

There is a dry rice method as well - put it in a bowl of uncooked rice, which sucks the damp out - but somewhere warm is probably just as good.

Thanks. I may just not use the battery. It was only submerged up to a third of the way up from the bottom. I'm drying out the bottom switch and cap parts, they seem like they should be okay. I think I'm just too nervous about the bottom half of that battery getting wet to try to salvage it but maybe I'll try the rice method as it worked for an iphone. Thanks again!

So sorry this happened to you. I thought it was just me that weird stuff always happened to. I guess I just figured out another good reason to own a reo grand. Wash it in the sink all the time. Hope hope one of the suggestions help revive your mod. Let us know so others can learn for your experience.

If the picture came through, you can kind of see where the water was up to on the tube. Everything is drying out under a lamp the mod seems fine. The battery actually seems okay but I am not going to try anything unless it has dried out for a long while.
