Storing used atomizers

Liquor store if they sell it in your state. They don't sell it in VA I don't think. I know I had to go into DC to get it, but I don't remember if we were living in MD or VA suburbs at the time. I may have to resort to Moonshine since they do have that around here .

Thanks Sun! What do you suggest for storage of attys that have been really used and put away? If we aren't using them for just a few days do we need to prime them too or just for long time storage?

Moon--for just a few days --you do not have to do anything. I have atomizers that have been sitting around for months and they are fine just sitting in a draw. Many old ones that I have taken apart show no signs at all of rust or oxidation. I do think the keeping the mesh wet with primer is key though for long term storage.

Sun--Can I just use Glycerin for that? A few drops on the atty and stick it in a ziplock or box somewhere?

Rambling--I use a mix if striaght PG and flood it. If you are allergic to it just cut it with VG--but I would personally not use VG straight as it is to thick and will harden up on the coil.

What I have started doing is to leave a partically used cart on the atty. I put this into a ziplock bag to keep the air from drying it out. I have 4 attys in "long term" storage. I'm working on cleaning my last 3 clogged attys now.

any demo's on "priming" an atty. Just drop some juice on it???

I'm using little bottles that things like vitamins come in. I date the bottle. I'm buying about 8 at a time. When they arrive, I test each one and then put it back in the little plastic sleeve and tape close. I then put them in a bottle. I got some of those moisture collecter things that come in pill bottles. I put them at the top so it'll be easier to replace--high hopes of having them for a long long time.
Then I put the bottle in a freezer bag, making sure I get all the air out, and then put in a dry and cool place.
That's probably going to be the hardest thing in keeping them because I use a humidifier in the winter.

I store my attys bone dry as I don't want to risk making a breeding ground for microorganisms, corrosion or gummy deposits.
