So I just started rebuilding mesh wicks in my aga-T2 and having some issues.

Im using ss mesh 500 started out with a peice 1 1/2'' long buy 3' wide and rolled pretty tight, there is some room in the middle id say you could probably poke two small pins in the center or so.

I oxidize the sheet and then roll, I fold the edge over on a small crease on the outside edge. then oxidize the wick 3-4 times to get a good coating on it. I can get a few good hits and then it just doesn't seem to be wicking well at all.

30g kanthal 4 wraps 1.3-1.5 ohms.

Maybe a thicker wick? There seems to be quite a bit of room in the wick hole yet, but not sure if you should really have it tight in the wick hole?

Help, advice? I followed a tutorial here on ECF I cant remember the exact one but I followed it to a T. Anyway any ideas?

Thanks for you help, vape on!!

Good luck. I too got suckered into the capillary action rebuild-able atomizer system from all the wonderful reviews on here as well. I thought this was it, so I bought the best one that was on the market at the time, the D.I.D! I've been trying to get a decent hit out of the thing for the last 3 years.

300, 400, 500 mesh, 28,32,36 kanthal/nicrome, 100% PG, 100% VG, 50% PG/50% VG, wicks as tight as a steel bar, loose wicks, wicks within wicks, coils wrapped tight, coils wrapped loose, around a nail, around cigarette paper, oxizided with water, without water, 3 times 4 times, 10 times, "use the coil to oxidize the wick just where it needs to be!" do people come up with this stuff on the fly? well I tried that anway and as I figured, the provari just kept tossing up E1's (doesn't work at all).

Setting up a ss mesh genny on a Provari can be a pain. The protection circuit is just too sensitive. It can be done, but the wick has to be perfectly oxidized from the start. A mechanical mod makes the process much easier. In fact, the very first mechanical mod I ever bought was a cheapie that I had no intention of actually using for vaping. I bought it specifically for setting up genesis builds to be used on my Provaris.

Just to clarify 3" was for the length. and 1 1/2" for the width. I adjusted to 2" for the width and now it vapes perfect. fits nice and snug in the wick hole on the AGA-T2 stock wick hole. My problem was the wick not being tight enough in the wick hole. Now it vapes like a champ. This is a almost solid wick it has a very small hole in the center about the size of a small needle. It was as tight as I could roll it. Oxidize piece, rolled. Oxidized 3x times once rolled.

The flavor is nice, and I have no issues after two full tanks. I gotta say they are quite the little tinker machine but once you get it dialed in this is one of the best vapes I have had so far. Definitely not for the non tinkering type, but I like tinkering! :)

SS mesh only works on A pressure build, with that said everything has to be pretty snug, if your wick does not fit pretty tight in the wick hole it wont work. Im pretty sure ss mesh only will work as the juice is vaped more is forced up by pressure. So if its not working, you need to look at your wick size and go from there. I get tiny air bubbles coming out the bottom of my wick and it wicks and vapes perfect now.

Also I found cutting the bottom end in the tank on a slight angle gives more surface area and helps the wicking process. The first two I did not do this, and it seems to have improved the wicking.

If flavor is off or burnt, you have hot spots, work them out before filling tank or priming. Hot spots are a killer for flavor and overall performance just keep tweaking the coil until it all glows evenly.

I used 500 ss mesh 30g kanthal 4/5 wrap at 2.0 ohms. Generally run it at 4-5 volts on my Provari.

Best of luck. Im a total noob to gennys and it took me 3 wicks before I got one working right. So best of luck. Just keep tinkering until you hit that sweet spot. My genny makes huge clouds and good flavor you just need patience and an understanding of how things work. I have done no modification to my AGA-T2 standard wick hole and standard air hole...

Vape on! :)

I got lucky I guess, first agat2 build 2 ss wicks into 2 coils wouldn't wick enough at 25 watts or so, it was just rolled 17mm pieces of 400 ss. Nothing but fail

Second build using much less ss, silica wick down the center and still space left in there, some cotton snagged and worked into the top side of the ss wicks, flows like a river now
