Soapy-moldy taste?

I've been vaping straight PG mixes for a few months and decided to try a 50/50 PG-VG to see what it was like. This was from a different vendor (I have always used the same one up to now). It was really awful. It had a very strong over-taste of moldy soap or mildew or something. Is it normal to be surprised at the taste of VG or did I just get a bad batch?

You may need to "steep" age the liquid before it tastes good.

It's generic. He imports it to Canada from US. My question is really, Should I expect VG to taste significantly more "organic" than PG?

Did you wash your tank with moldy soap by chance? No? Ok reboot your computer. You already tried that, too? Man I was really hoping that would work out.

I started heavy VG so I can't say if it tastes moldy, but I can say that 50/50 tastes WAY different than my 80 or max VG juices. Some good, some bad.

I got a new tank too, maybe that's it. You answered my question about the different taste. I was just looking for a thicker vapor but I don't want a weird over-taste. I'll run it through a few times and let it steep and then see what I have. Thanks.

I have been vaping high vg levels for years and I have never noticed or had a soapy moldy taste unless the juice itself was garbage.

Since it's a new tank you'd it'd be better to give it a good Warsh, Then try again. If it still tastes like doodoo

Steeping Advice

In my experience, higher VG juices tend to need more steeping than higher PG juices. Perhaps let it veg for a while and try again?

Soapy usually means over-flavored. Moldy--bad--really bad. To me, a VG mix higher than 50/50 tastes kind of earthy, slightly sweet and leaves a weird coating in my mouth. It also takes most of the throat hit out of my vape but it does make nice, puffy clouds.
