So I think I have killed my first battery.

Well the light on my mega battery is simply staying a pale blue (not as bright as when its in use), no current flows to the atomizer and it doesn't charge (though it will still blink at a normal light level when I put it on the charger).

I am I right in assuming there is no hope of making this battery work again?

Sounds like board is shot. Lights will still work since they are on different circuit. Keep it for parts you may want to build a mod someday. Other than that it is toasted.

Yep, Its dead as a doornail. I'd do like Liv2ski suggested and carefully disassemble the battery and keep the connector in case you ever want to make a mod. Yeah its being cheap- but it will save you a couple bucks.
