Cisco LRs Seem to Have Killed All My Batteries

I just received a couple of the Cisco 306 LR atties, primed them and began vaping with a weird taste. I figured it was due to the break-in period. After a few hours my eGo battery seemed to fully discharge, so I plugged it in to the charger and put the Cisco on another eGo. That one began flashing, as well. I figured it wasn't strange since I wasn't keeping track of the charges and haven't charged in a while. So I tried two more eGos, both with similar results. It seems the Cisco has killed all of my four eGo batteries. Three of them will light the coil when screwed on (without pressing the button) but the button doesn't light-up; seems to be constantly activated. Two of them won't change the charger indicator when screwed in. One of them blinks with an atty on and the button pressed.

WTF is going on here?!

I'm guessing the atty shorted and killed my batteries. If so, what kind of recourse would I have here. These things are expensive.

Please help, ECF. :(

EDIT: Three of the batteries are 650 mAh and the other is 900 mAh

Put the atty on a meter. I'll bet you $5 that it reads about 1.0 Ohm.. give or take a few percentage points.

The atty "went bad" (partial short) and the eGo doesn't have any "partial short circuit protection". It will protect against a "fully shorted" atty... but not a "partially shorted" one. Design flaw IMHO.

P.S. You usually get a "taste indication" that the atty is going bad..... and if you become sensitive to that, you can stop using the atty and test it before it pops the MOSFET in the battery system. You can also often do an "extended dry burn" to get the atty resistance back up where it belongs.

I feel for you. It really sucks losing all that money.

On the bright side, Bruce, from Clouds of Vapor, has been very helpful with my issue and sent me a new eGo battery and two different attys even though it was the manufacturer's fault, not his. He was very quick to respond and was genuinely concerned and generous. I've not had customer service like that before.
