I'm not familiar with the heads used in the Kanger subtank mini, are they dual coil? Factory built mass produced coil heads of any brand are of dubious quality to start with but if a dual coil 1.2 ohm head is reading around 2.2 ohms could be one of the coils in the head is defective. It takes two 2.4 ohm coils to create a 1.2 ohm dual coil head, if one of the coils is defective (no contact) the reading would indeed be around 2.2 ohms. Just a thought.

.01 .03 off is ok but .3 no still not right

Try another tank and report back

Good luck
Actually on above 1ohm coils, it is not uncommon for Kanger and other Premade coils to read +/- .2ohm. Obviously you do not want this in a Sub ohm coil, but it is still a manufacturers variance, not most mods.

Op, the problem is in Proper Coil grounding and/or proper 510 grounding. Any loss = higher resistance readings.
Recheck coil tension - loosen and re-tighten.
Clean the 510 connections on Mod and Tank with q-tip and alcohol.
Fire the Mod with no tank attached.
Install tank and screw almost flush, but not quite.
Fire mod and select New coil again and read ohms. Note if any changes and if better or worse.

* sometimes the Coil may not make clean contact with the base of the tank*

actually, I think this is what I do,
Edit:
unscrew coil head
press in the floating 510 center contact pin in the air flow base
screw in the coil head
press on the floating pin again
install tank on mod
remove the battery
reinsert battery
turn on mod
press fire button
select new coil (make sure to select new coil)
You should not have to remove the battery to reset the device, but I have had to do it on enough mods (not just smok) that it has become one of the first things I do when I get a bad read on resistance.
