Friends, something very weird has been happening to me this week. I am concerned that it may have something to do with vaping, but I can't find any information online to support that, so hopefully it's something else.
It started at work. I started smelling fumes - like the odor of car exhaust. I complained to Facilities - told them there must be fumes coming in through the AC vent. The weird things was, a few other people said they smelled it too, in various parts of the building. So I thought it was a problem in the building itself. But Facilities told me that there is no gas anywhere - all electrical, and that there was no possible way any car exhaust or machine exhaust could be entering the building. I was scratching my head trying to figure it out, when two nights ago, I realized I was smelling it at home as well!
Sometimes the smell is so strong it makes my eyes almost water and makes me light headed, as if I was actually breathing in fumes from a tail pipe.
I Googled it and found many other people who have the same problem - smelling exhaust fumes where there are none. They linked it to all sorts of health issues, of which I have none - I even found a post that correlated the problem to brain tumors! This of course, has me very concerned! But I feel perfectly fine! Other than the annoyance of smelling exhaust, there doesn't seem to be a thing wrong.
Has anyone else experienced this? I am perplexed.
