I am a Canadian living in the states and feel your pain. It is starting here to and depends on where you live.

In Oregon, people are not that uptight. I can pretty much vape almost everywhere without many people giving me dirty looks. I try and be respectful of others, but I find myself stealth vaping more and more these days.

The other day I was doing some food shopping with my wife in a Safeway and I was craving some nicotine after shopping for the better part of an hour and just stealth vape in a aisle with nobody around. A few pulls and I was good to go lol.

I can't stand being lumped in with smokers though or having to vape in a smoking section ughhhhh.

Things are going to get a bit more interesting here in a week when Measure 91 hopefully gets voted through. That and no sales tax would make Oregon an even better place to live.

I'm sorry to hear that OP. It seems the struggles we face as vapors stems from the typical stereotypes smokers face. It's ridiculous.

Everytime I go out, I have to educate people that what I am doing is vaping, not smoking. The vapor that is emitted is not smoke. It's not from a flame but from a coil that heats up liquid - it works on the same exact principle of a fog machine.

The fact that many of these vaping devices are marketed as ways to quit smoking doesn't help the public's perception. Combine that with mainstream media and the perception that anything resembling smoke coming out of my mouth automatically looks like I'm smoking and it doesn't help.

One time I was even asked if I was smoking weed because the volume of vape coming out of my mouth versus a cigarette. I was vaping menthol at the time. Huge difference in smell there!

Could be worse

Was discussing e-cigs with my Security Officer (he's Army Reserve). Seems the US military treats e-cigs like reguar cigarettes in every way: including "no use within X feet of flammable materials"

I could see this as an issue. You're still heating up a coil to high temps to vaporize your juice. Have you seen how bright those coils get at say, 20 watts? The first time I was building a coil and touched it about 5 seconds after I let go of the button (like an idiot). Vaporized skin smell almost made me throw up not to mention the coil imprints on my fingers. This is why you can't vape in a room where someone is using oxygen.

I always wondered how cigarettes can cause so many health problems but still remain legal - yet Government wants to tell me how bad weed is. Blows my mind. Not to mention the number of chemicals put in a cigarette.

It's all about the $$$. $$$ $$$ $$$ $$$ $$$ $$$ $$$

They'll do whatever they can get away with. Problem is people aren't fighting back until it's too late. These petitions should have tens of thousands signatures not a few thousand. A couple years ago Bell and Rogers got into bed with the CRTC and got the CRTC to approve both companies charging crazy tariffs to smaller IPS. The petition reached a few hundred thousand, enough to affect a voting outcome and enough for Ottawa to step in a cause a change in decision by the CRTC within a week of the petition....

We really need some kind of organizations in Canada and US to help get everyone together and fight for our rights..something liek like the NRA.......NVA :)
