rusty stainless drip tip

I always thought stainless was rust proof guess I was wrong. I recently purchased a ss drip tip at a local b&m shop love the style but the other day I over dripped and got some liquid into the drip tip so I washed it out and shook it out (didnt have qtips with me ) so tonight I saw a red color inside the tip and guess what. Rust
Does anyone know of a safe coating I. Can apply to prevent this in the future

China calls just about any metal stainless steel. A made in USA stainless drip will most likely never rust.

It actually depends on what kind of stainless it is, in addition to the fact that some things labeled stainless steel from other countries isn't stainless steel at all by American and European standards.

Stainless will stain and rust under certain conditions, although I never really considered the drip tip as being one where it would.

While you could theoretically apply something like clear nail polish to the inside...I really dislike the idea of adding anything to something that goes into my mouth and I breathe through. I'm not sure if nail polish will react with anything in the liquid, either.

I think I'd just replace them when they start to rust.

Kinda agree with not wanting to use nail polish I always get a headache when my wife polishes her nails love the way it looks just cant stand the smell of the polish

ARe you SURE it's rust and not just juice stain? I had one where I thought it had discolored, but it wasn't rust, it was baked on juice inside and I had to take a little scrubber to it.

HOwever, yours probably isn't SS......probably chrome.

Definately rust unfortunately swabbed it out but there is still some pitting

Look up alt smoke popeye drip tip. It part of a brand that I can't remember the name of. They are all high grade euro made tips. I own 2 Popeyes and two short ones.

I feel your pain I have it lucky im allowed 130 a month for all things wich is 1/3 what I spent on camels so I am saving money but it takes a while to get pricier stuff

I wish i could say i was done buying but i finally found what works for me in my case that would be kayfun clones i have tried most styles brands of clearos and was never happy with it no i just have to get the number of kayfuns i want to have it will take a while but i get there
