i told him i am not smoking and to beat it.
Did I miss something?...And, didn't give the OP a chance to educate him...

I'm reposting the OP. The person that approached was not from the venue's security staff, it was just another person attending the event. And, didn't give the OP a chance to educate him, just turned around and went to the next vaper and proceeded to do the same thing. As I said before, the guy was on a self-appointed "mission."
Next time he'll just go to the officials or complain to the company and get them to enforce a ban.
Some people just can't stand to see other people enjoy themselves... And especially when it comes to anything vaguely resembling a cigarette... The wife and I were at a local eatery (outside in a designated smoking area by the way) vaping merrily away while enjoying our meal... A couple a few tables down from us (on the windward side) that were seated after us started fake coughing and called over a waitress to complain... The waitress attempted to explain (she knows us as we're regular customers) that we weren't smoking and that the area was a smoking designated area... Didn't make any difference - the people didn't leave but kept up their little coughing show until we finished our meal and went on our way...
I'm offended you're offendedThe word NAZI offends me and there for I shall ask that it be changed to something less offensive.... Carry on. Strapped

Did you even try to explain to him or did you just give him an attitude
sounds like you were just rather the fight then understanding
actaully he did not give me chance to explain it. he simply said "you cant smoke here" and i said i am not smoking. he shook his head and walked away did not want to he an explanation. so no i wasnt for a fight he did not want to hear an explantion. he simple saw something that looked like a cigarette and didnt feel that i should be doing it.
The Nazis were actually feverishly anti-smoking.
Okay, here is my last post on this subject. The accepted usage of the term "nazi," without capitalization, from
Nazi - Definition and More from the Free Merriam-Webster Dictionary
2 often not capitalized
b: one who is likened to a German Nazi : a harshly domineering, dictatorial, or intolerant person
You are offended. I'm sorry for that. But I will continue to use the term. It has been used many times on this forum, so evidently the moderators have no problem with it. But do, please, feel free to ignore my posts in the future.
We now resume our regularly scheduled programming...
Some people disagree with the op's attitude but I would have done the same thing. Sticking up for yourself is not going to give ecigs a bad name or create chaos around the world. In fact, more people need to be like this instead of rolling over like a little puppy. That's what's wrong with today's society. Everyone is in love with 'authority' figures. And if they aren't successful being one themselves, they go tattle and try to earn brownie points.
Someone's first approach to me determines how I deal with them. "Excuse me, I don't think smoking is allowed here." calls for a MUCH different response than "Hey! Put that out! You can't smoke here!" And it's not all vapers' responsibility to try and sell ecigs to society. If someone wants to learn about it, I'll tell them everything I know. If they come up to me and start bossing me around, (which is what some people just enjoy doing) then the response will be me telling them to...well, you know.
