Received email from NJoy just now... kinda worried

Has anyone else received this email from njoy? We just got it about an hour ago, does this mean the ban is on? Will we still be able to purchase e-cigs in the US? ::clueless:: Sorry, I'm just confused here, and starting to worry a little bit.

Dear Loyal njoy Customer:

As we informed you earlier this week, the FDA has put a hold on the importation of electronic cigarettes for the time being and we are working to get them to reverse their position.

We have already asked you to help, and many of you have responded through emails and letters. To make sure YOU are heard in Washington, we ask that you call your two state Senators TODAY. In the next couple of days decisions will be made that could threaten your ability to use electronic cigarettes. Now represents the time YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

PLEASE...time is of the essence! The more people that call their Senators TODAY, the better our chances will be to having electronic cigarettes for you in the near future.

In order to find the telephone numbers of the two Senators who represent your state, please CLICK HERE and search for them by state, or find your appropriate Senator below.

When you connect with their office, please use the following text to shape your comments to the person to whom you are speaking with:
"I am calling because I would like you, as my Washington representative, to defend my freedom to choose electronic cigarettes."

Once you have told this to Senator [YOUR SENATOR], please ask that person to transfer you to your other Senator's office and communicate the same message.

Please forward this message to friends and family to gain as much support as possible for this important issue!

We greatly appreciate your support for electronic cigarettes!

Best regards,
The njoy Team

I don't think there is a need to panic... but there is definitely an urge to get everyone to understand just how time sensitive this is.

Next Tuesday they will probably be marking up the Kennedy bill. Why did it get postponed? Most bills are delayed until they are positive they have enough votes to pass a bill as is, with no amendments. Lovely little game.

Now, this could go on for quite awhile, but it doesn't hurt every week, to get folks to write a letter. You may write one this week, and someone who didn't will the next. It is very important that as happy consumers, you let those who make our decisions for us know exactly what decisions you would like to have made.

Hmmmmmmmmmmm Njoy sells their products for SO much more than anyone else, basically screwing us over.
They wanted our hard earned money, and now want our support for free? Seems a little one sided to me!

If NJOY will paypal me $19.99 I'll gladly email a few more people!

It just really irks me that they email everyone on their email list now and ask for help... Grrrr

I see your point, Wildsky, but I have no ill will toward NJOY because if it weren't for them, I'd never have started vaping. :)

They're priced higher, at least in part, because they've invested in advertising and in getting their product on store shelves. They also conducted at least one scientifically validated survey on e-smoking. None of this comes cheap.

In any case, we're all in this together now, or should be. JMO.

P.S. I don't work for NJoy. ;)

NJoy can follow the bouncing ball of legislation just the same as we all can....they are deciding to add their voices to ours over the Waxman/Kennedy bill, not shout over the top of ours, and perhaps some vocalization as the SE suit goes into the courts.

I look at it this way.....how many people out there are reliant on their NJoy products who are not on this forum and unaware that their newfound gadget is set on the chopping block....I say the more calls to action, the better.

The enemy of my enemy is an ally. Win the battle, then take up personal grievances.

I've been trying to call both of the Texas representatives for over two hours, line is always busy. >_< Guess I'll write, I can make it with todays mail if I hurry.

NJoy was my first e-cig. I've found others to go with that are more reasonably priced since then, but I never knew there was such a thing on the planet until I heard of NJoy.

I do agree with Vicks, it's a good thing they sent the email out for their customers that perhaps don't frequent the e-cig forums... The more people aware and willing to make themselves heard, the better off we all are. We're all in the same boat here.

I totally agree we're all in this together, the last email or one of them from Njoy they were specifically asking to release NJOY shipments, or something implying that. (when I got to that part I stopped reading)

Anyhoo - I guess they should have put some of all those dollars into a good law firm, we can all do our bit, but they took a lot of $$ from a lot of people.

From the sounds of the emails etc.. I've seen and received, they're ONLY out to protect themselves, they're not wanting to join forces or anything, and I think thats wrong, they want all our help to get them out of the dwang, other than that they never would have helped us out!

Once a precedent is set its hard to get it changed, and it does hold validity for pretty much anyone who is in the same boat making the same argument..example:Roe v Wade...anyone who is involved in E-Cigs in any way, seller or buyer will be effected by the precedent set by whoever gets to court first...keep your support goin, regardless what you think of who is in front of the judge today...having to get a higher court to overturn a decision is a long, expensive process.

What I do not see here concerns me much more. That being that a large company like NJOY is not seeking judical review like SE is. With their capital on hand, one would think that they would seek review by the courts to protect thier interests. The lack of that advancement is very troubling --------Sun

I'm not at all famlar with the way things work in the US, but it sounds like it would be worth to email NJOY to find out their reasoning on this, and suggest they do so if they haven't thought of it (if it not too late to do so).
