Hi everyone. I am new to e-cigs. Only been doing them 3 days now. I am currently smoking the cheep e-cigs you buy at 7-11 (Xhaleo2). I actually really like them BUT the vapor output is low and the cartridges don't last long. I am a 2 pack a day analog smoker. I have read over 10 articles on this forum regarding models and vapor output and while I am grateful for the info available, I am a bit overwhelmed.

I am hoping I can list the things that are most important to me in regards to what I want out of e-cig and perhaps you all could point me in the right direction? Importance is listed in order. THank you in advance for your help:

1. Vapor output (I want to see "smoke" when I smoke)
2. Throat hit (I want to "feel" like I am really smoking)
3. size (I prefer something that looks very similar to a 100 size cig)
4. battery life (the longer the better)
5. style (want it to look good, sleek and stylish)

1. Vapor output (I want to see "smoke" when I smoke)
You won't see "smoke", but you will see a lot of vapor with a KR808, 510, or eGo.

2. Throat hit (I want to "feel" like I am really smoking)
TH is going to be best determined by the amount of PG in your juice and somewhat by the nicotine level.

3. size (I prefer something that looks very similar to a 100 size cig)
Both the 510 and the KR808 are going to be closer to a 100. Word of warning: small battery means it won't last as long between charges.

4. battery life (the longer the better)
See answer above. If you want long battery life, you'll need to give up on having the look of a "cigarette". Go with an eGo, Riva, Tornado type model.

5. style (want it to look good, sleek and stylish)
All models stated above are sleek and stylish. If you look around, you can even find them in different colors.

Welcome To ECF!

3 and 4 are not compatible, the tech isn't there yet to make a cig sized pv that lasts for hours. Ego or Riva is about as small as you'll get to meet all your requirements.

The e-cig by the lighter is about 100 size as you can see, max battery life for 2PAD max 2 hours, the ego's should last atleast 6hours.

You can get a personal charging case (pcc) for either the kr808 or the 510 mini's

1. They both do the vapor, the kr808 is a little warmer the 510 does a bit more clouds of vape
2. TH is determined by juice a lot of the time but they both will be better than what you have probably
3 Size: the kr808 is slightly smaller than a 100 but definitely heavier the 510 is right around that size depending on if you are using cartomizers/ drip tips / ect....the 510 pcc (not the joye ones) look more like regular cigarette packs
4. The kr808 lasts 6 hours or so...pretty good for that size but I have had some problems with mine..the 510 lasts..maybe 2 but again a pcc offsets that and some of them look pretty cool...it is not like you would be carrying a single analog cigarette around and expecting it to last you all day either
5. you can buy wraps for the 510's and kr808 to look like whatever you want...most vendors offer LED options on the 510's as well

keep in mind battery life depends on how you use it.

Although I only smoked about 3/4 of a pack a day, i vape CONSTANTLY, the only exception is if the boss is around at work. Then I cut back a bit.

My first venture was a standard 510 kit. Batteries lasted 1.5 hours tops. I once went through 3 charged batteries, and a fully charged PCC during a night of drinking, and still ended bumming a smoke. Even with the larger battery capacity of a KR808 (100 mah larger), it might last me 2.5 hours were I to give one a try.

That caused me to build a 5v mod, in which the batteries would last me 12 hours on one charge. Worked great, but batteries still ended up being a PITA, so I build an adjustable voltage mod, using the same circuitry and batteries as my previous mod, but I added a connector for an external power source, and a switch so I can choose between batteries or external power (being either a 12v 2 amp wall adapter I had laying around that I modified, an old cell phone car charger I modified, or a power supply at my test bench at work). This stretched my battery life out to 4-5 days, as I am around an external power source 95% of the time.

As far as atomizers, you cannot go wrong with a 510. Tons of options, and great performance.

For throat hit, as others mentioned, it's all about nicotine level. Higher nicotine=stronger hit. PG does affect throat hit, but not nearly as much as nicotine level (I DIY juice, and have played around with both quite a bit)

For the novice vaper, a joye ego, or a similar model, is the place to start. A majority find battery life on the mini's too short, and swapping/charging batteries becomes a major hassle.

Thank you everyone for your replies. I just watched the videos from mistress and read your replies and it seems like I want to go with either the Kr8 or 510 like she has. I hate to admit it but I am a bit like a kid in a candy store. I find this very exciting that there are so many options, flavors and "looks" out there. I should have started vaping long ago.

One more question. What is the most reasonably priced website for me to buy either a 510 or kr8 starter kit from? I went to a site called VS (Vapor Station) and they had a 510 starter kit (in a beautiful stainless steel color) for around $50 but it is sold out, along with the black one. Money is tight right now, which I am sure many of you can relate to. I just want to get the best bang for my buck. I totally plan on replacing my analog smoking with vaping so I want to do it up right from the get-go.

Thank you for this size comparison. I went ahead and ordered the ego for my husband and ordered the 510 for myself with a PCC.

Hi Tam

Congratulations on your 510 and your hubby's Ego, both are very popular. Don't forget to get some good juice. I think most would agree that your juice is just as important as your hardware. There are tons of threads on great suppliers and the various options you have when ordering. It sounds like you've been using prefilled, most of which are mediocre at best. To get the vapor and throat hit you mentioned, I think you'll need to get some juice. You'll probably save money over prefilled as an added benefit.
