Re wicking Kangor OCC coils

How many times can I safely reuse, after rewicking the cotton, the actual metal coil in the 1.2 ohm OCC coils? Does the actual wire significantly degrade over time with repeated use? Another way to ask is how many times can I just replace the cotton on one single coil safely?

Not sure, I just recoil mine I found I get a terrible taste with organic cotton I just ordered some rayon and some silica wick to try out.

I guess it depends on what the wire is. Some people talk of getting 6 months from thicker wire coils.

I can easily see the stock Lemo coil going for that long. I'd be tempted to clean up the coil, dry burn it and carry on for as long as everything seems AOK.

Return coil and spritz with water makes the coil shinny again. Usually mine last five or six times if I am careful not to move the coil around too much when rewicking

If you can remove the coil with OUT damaging, then that is Feat all in itself!! My hats off to you! I still can't remove the coil with out completely damaging it. Therefore, I always have a fresh coil in mine. So I can not answer that question. But on actual Rebuildable Tanks/Drippers, most say coil life is about 2 weeks. But that depends on the volume of juice you burn, type of juice, wattage/voltage used and gauge of wire.
But really, as long as it continues to vape good, then use it! Nothing is set in stone!!

I haven't tried to wick one yet, figured I would get to that once I get to the end of the packs of pre built coils I've got. I was successful getting the old wick out thanks to some help from an Irish guy on YouTube. The trick is to fish out enough through the side hole to grab with some needle nose pliers and then twist it so it kind of unthreads itself from the coils. It makes a bit of a mess as it squeezes all of the juice out and it takes quite a bit of twisting so be patient.

Oh snap I haven't even tried rewicking the OCC heads. I imagine it'd work great, I find the cotton they used a bit densely packed, it doesn't wick as well as it potentially could.
