I'm getting ready to make my first attempt at rebuilding the Kanger OCC 1.2 coil for the Subtank mini. I only have an istick 20 so I can't use the rda or the .5 ohm coil. Can anyone tell me a build to do in order to get as close to the stock 1.2 ohm coil as possible. I haven't bought any wire yet. I would like to know the gauge of wire needs, the diameter and number of wraps please. I understand how to rewick the coil, just not sure what gauge of wire to use etc. Thanks!

1.3mm is the default diameter in steam.

Nice little site filled with good info. I'm not sub-ohming yet, nor in a rush to build my own coils. But it gives me a great starting point for consideration if I do elect to do so in the future. Excellent stuff sir!
I was trying to do the math on those. I think the .5 is probably 26 gauge and the 1.2 was 29, based on the number of wires I could see looking down into the coil. They have pretty long legs to reach the bottom so that helps with the resistance and definitely has to be factored in.
If I remembered correctly, it's the same as the Aspire Atlantis-- 24 gauge.
The stock coil is around 3mm or slightly under, the legs total around 18 mm. If you wrap 28ga kanthal around a 7/64" drill bit with 5 wraps it should get you very close to the stock 1.2ohm build.
Or you could put this same coil in the rda base and vape away. Always check with a meter or a VV mod capable of reading ohms before firing.

28 gauge 3mm inner diameter 5 wraps should do the trick. Cut cotton about 7mm wide and thread that thing through snip that .... and fluff the ends. Enjoy.
