    Somewhere between here and there
Hello. I am here today with another new line of disposables from Oxbar. I was sent three samples of the G8000 by Oxbar to provide you with a fair and honest review. The G8000 is pre-filled with 16ml of 5% nicotine (50mg) for a puff rating of 8000 puffs. I’m not going to sit and write down my puffs so I’ll have to take their word for it. The G8000 uses a 1.2 ohm mesh coil to deliver very good flavor and is of course rechargeable since it uses a 650mah internal battery. I’m not used to 50mg so have had to use these a little at a time but will do my best to give you a fair analysis of the flavors and vapor production. There are three versions of the G8000 listed on the website which are Classic, Gradient, and Deluxe. There are 17 flavors listed as of the time I am writing this but wouldn’t be surprised to see more.

    INITIAL THOUGHTS:

The packaging for these is very colorful and catches your eye. Like most disposables, the packaging is fairly simple but I have to admit that I was surprised that they included a lanyard with each unit. I’m not a lanyard user but was surprised they included one due to the added cost to each unit.

The front of the box has the Oxbar and G8000 names printed along with the flavor name of the version inside the box. Also on the front is a list of the features and a large warning on the bottom. The back side contains the contents list which is just the device itself and a lanyard. No charging cable is included despite the G8000 being rechargeable. It has to be with only a 650mah battery and a puff rating of 8000 puffs. I do like that they include an ingredients list on the box. The sides of the box have a QR code, company information, and batch number.

Once opened, inside the G8000 is sealed inside of a plastic bag which is easily torn open. After the device is opened then you will find a rubber plug in the mouthpiece which seals it from any contaminants and there is a white sticker covering the base of the device to protect it from accidental firing. Both of these must be removed before the G8000 can be used. I normally plug in any new device to make sure I have a full charge to start. In the second picture below you can see that there is a place to connect the lanyard. I’m not a fan of them but there is one included.

Oxbar was nice enough to send three samples for my review. I received the Cool Mint, Double Apple, and Rainbow Skittles. All three are labeled as 5% nicotine which in our world relates to 50mg. I would not recommend chain vaping one of these unless you have a high tolerance for nicotine.

The G8000 is made of PC and weighs in at 72g. The pre-filled liquid is said to be 16ml and has a puff rating of 8000 puffs. That’s a lot of puffs. There isn’t really a practical way for me to do a puff count so will take them at their word. The main body of the G8000 is clear and there is what I would call a color bladder inside which holds the liquid and the 1.2 ohm mesh coil. I haven’t cut one apart so don’t really know how it is assembled inside. The Oxbar and G8000 names are printed on the front along with the flavor name. There isn’t any other branding on the G8000. Like most disposables, the G8000 is auto draw only.

The charging port and airflow inlet for the auto draw are located on the bottom of the device on the underneath side of the white plastic base. There is also a single LED light on the bottom to the right of the charging port that illuminates when charging or when taking a puff but it’s a little hard to see while holding it.

As I mentioned earlier, I received three samples for this review. I’m no flavor connoisseur but will try to give a brief description of each of the three flavors that I received.

COOL MINT: This was the first one that I opened to try. I tend to like mint flavors so thought this would be a good one to start with. I was very pleased with this one. It’s a nice semi sweet mint flavor and the menthol or cooling agent wasn’t too strong unless chain vaping.

RAINBOW SKITTLES: I tried this one second. I did get a bit of a fruit candy flavor. It is sweet but not overly so. I did feel like the menthol in this one was unnecessarily strong and to me it masked the candy flavor that might have been quite good without the menthol.

DOUBLE APPLE: In almost 14 years of vaping I’ve never been able to vape any kind of apple flavor or any period of time. I could take a few puffs at a time but quickly got tired of it. The apple flavor in this one was really pleasant. To me it tastes like a sour green apple. I quite liked this one and could even pick up on the sour taste in it. It does contain some menthol but about the same level as the Cool Mint but it wasn’t over powering. I personally could have done with a little less cooling but it wasn’t bad.

    FINAL THOUGHTS:

The Oxbar G8000 has been one of the better disposables that I have tried. I would say that I’ve probably tested 6-8 different brands/types of disposables. I’m not normally a disposable user but can see where they can be a good tool for smokers looking to quit. The simplicity of operation along with good flavors could possibly help smokers make the switch to vaping.

The battery management seemed good despite only being a 650mah battery. However that combined with a higher resistance 1.2 ohm mesh coil allows the battery to last quite a while. I found the flavors fairly pleasant and if I was going to pick one out of the three I received as a favorite then I would pick the Cool Mint for my tastes. If you have read any of my other disposable reviews then you know that I constantly complain about too much menthol in most of them. Besides the Rainbow Skittles, the other two weren’t too bad but would have liked to try the Double Apple flavor without menthol. I just don’t understand why disposable manufacturers think that every flavor needs a strong menthol added. Menthol is fitting with some flavors but not all. In some devices that I’ve tested, the menthol actually masks the flavor instead of enhancing it and felt like that was the case with the Rainbow Skittles.

Overall I enjoyed testing the Oxbar G8000 samples and would like to thank Oxbar and Lina for arranging the samples for my review. Thanks as always to the readers. I greatly appreciate you taking the time to read my reviews. Below is a link to the website for your viewing pleasure.
