I smoked Drum hand-rolling tobacco for about 10 years, Camel filters, then lights, for about 5 years and then I quit cigarettes completely.
But I always LOVED smoking. I finally decided to give e-cigs a go because it looks to me like all the fun of cigarettes without 99% of the aspects of smoking that are really bad for you.
On a lark about two months ago, I picked up a "Green Smart E-Cig" kit -- one battery, two cartomizers and a USB charger. It was convincing enough that after reading reviews I picked up a Greensmoke kit and really hit it off with their "Tobacco Gold" flavor. I've been through about 4 five-packs of cartomizers so far.
There's two things I don't like about the Greensmoke -- the cartomizers seem to lose flavor and vape volume after about 24-36 hours of being open, becoming a little dryer in taste and less flavorful regardless of how heavily they were used. And then there's price, of course, paying about $18 for a five pack which lasts me about two weeks. The things I like about it -- even the shorty battery lasts me all day (I charge about 1-2 hours in the morning before I go to work) and when fresh, the cartomizer flavor and experience is JUST like smoking a cigarette, actually even better. I also really like the "cigalike" form factor. It pockets easily and on the go it's pretty simple to just screw on a new cartomizer.
Anyway, I decided to go "all in" and picked up a Kanger EVOD kit. The place I bought it had about a zillion flavors (all a "house brand") and I think I sampled all of the tobacco flavors and didn't find any that I thought were as good as the Greensmoke Tobacco Gold flavor. I picked up 3 sample bottles that were just OK. The good part of this was that the vape volume was a lot better, but I just wasn't digging the flavors as well as the Greensmoke, so I've been continuing to use the Greensmoke until I get new flavors.
I dug around a bit and now have 5 samples from Johnson Creek on order -- Domestic, Red Oak, Silverthorn, JC Original and Swiss Dark (to round out the 5 sample package deal; generally I'm not a sweet smoke guy). I also thought I would try some V2 juice -- their Sahara flavor. For the hell of it, I also picked up some of their prefilled Saharas and an adapter to try them on my Greensmoke battery.
Long-term it may be nice to fill their blanks with Johnson Creek or their juice for the "cigalike" experience when I want that and use them in the EVOD's clearomizers. I guess there are also KR808D-2 blanks available, too.
Anyway, this is my experience. I think the key to this is finding good juice and I'm not real sure where else to go for good tobacco flavored juice.
