Starlight--Your photo number 2 showing the roll poly batting is the winner--you should have no issues with that one---Sun

I will agree that this stuff should give you any issues.

As for the first picture; the stuff I got is MUCH more coarse than the stuff you're showing there.

Yours almost looks like cotton...

Odd.

Terraphon--That is odd--wonder what it is? Looks like pillow stuffing. Heads up everybody--pillow stuffing is not batting. Batting is used to put a soft layer underneath fabric, like the arms of an upholstered chair or couch--Batting is not the material made to stuff a pillow our cushion of a sofa---Sun

It's not cotton, it claims to be 100% polyester and is meant for stuffing toys according to the packet although the various eBay UK sellers who sell it say it's also ideal for stuffing cushions, pillows, dog beds, quilting, upholstery and many other craft uses.

Maybe I thought this was the same as "batting" as this isn't a UK expression that I know of, and I thought I saw someone on the forum here somewhere refer to polyester pillow stuffing/filling as being the same stuff... I guess it was a case of "oops, I made a mistake" for me as I did a search for "polyester filling" not knowing better and was hoping to get some of the stuff Teraphon had used. Obviously, I didn't... Still, it was so cheap, it's not exactly loadsa money lost.

Thanks, Sun, for explaining what "batting" is for us newbie Brits who may not know the expression. I found the "batting" on eBay UK by searching for "polyester wadding". Doing a search for "batting" came up with nothing.

I've now tried the flat stuff on a roll, and it works a treat, thanks! I got the smallest one, 1 metre, and I think it could last months and months :D

Starlight--Glad I could help. Sometimes we take for granted that the terms used in the Country we live in are the same all over. I see you are in England and I do not know what the exact term is there for batting. But I am gald you found it. Paying half a dollar for a core you can make yourself for not even a penny is simply throwing money away. I remember when a whole pack of Smokes was half a dollar!!! lol--Sun

Showing my age now, but I remember when a pack of 10 was something like 1 shilling and 6 pence (in the mid 60s). Nah, that can't possibly be right !?!? A pack of 20 is now over £5... 8-o

Batting in UK is "wadding" (and "filler" just to confuse the issue), well, according to Wikipedia at any rate ;)

Starlight--that is something like $7.60 + here, We better stick to the vaping--lol---Sun

I'm having limited luck with the Fluval, it seems to want to hold back about 2/3 of the liquid, it's quite hard to draw anything after the first few puffs. I've tried it full thickness, 2/3 thickness, fluffed and not - not great for me :(

Hi Space,

I'm using Fluval 2 without problems. It's a good idea when the cart is empty to half fill with liquid, then put the Fluval in, then top off. It works for me.

Any time, sir.

I spent a lot of time looking around, here, there, everywhere else before I made the purchase of my e-cig. The information I was able to glean from watching videos, reading reviews and checking out threads was instrumental in me being as happy as I am with my choices...I came in to this adventure well informed and with no false expectations.

If I can help to edify other people and make their transition into e-smoking as smooth and painless as mine was then I can feel I'm giving back what I took.

I owe at least that much.

This is what I bought. It is on a roll also but is way to fluffy. I do it just like the vid but I still get strands everywhere. Even if I don't, when I put it into the cart or by the next fill I always get long stray strands. Going to try trimming them but I think this stuff is just too soft.

Also was wondering if when you make the lil pill. Is it the same depth as the cart or 2/3, 1/2...ect.?

That's different from the stuff I got.

The stuff I got is by the same manufacturer but is labeled as "Premium Polyester Fiberfil". It is in the form of a big lump of mush but is, for all intents and purposes, identical to the stuff in the carts.

Maybe I just got lucky and stumbled across something I'm not supposed to have...All I know is that it works like a charm, every cart, every time.

EDIT : In response to the question, I make it loose packed about 2/3 the length of the inner cart.

The first one I got, although not on a roll, was also marked "Hi Loft" like yours, whereas the other one I've seen that everybody says is OK is, I believe, "Low Loft" (whatever "loft" means).

Is yours really very very silky and ever so fine as well as soft and springy? The way you describe it, sounds similar to the first one I had which was completely useless!

The one I got from a roll looks and feels almost identical to what comes in the EVO and RN4072 penstyle carts, but seems a little thinner, not that it matters as it seems to work just fine.

I agree that Terraphon's vid is one of the best around for a "how to" vid. Excellent. Keep them coming please! :D

Edit: Have a look at the photos I posted in this topic on the previous page - post #39 - it might help to differentiate between them and for comparison?
